Is anyone else having trouble uploading to Flickr tonight? The 'processing' part of it seems to be taking ages. Oh, never mind - they're having network issues at the moment.

Meantime... memes! )

This was fun. I'm going to look into safe removal of fan caps now, mainly whether or not it's doable, as the fan in my computer has been making a ruckus - again - for a couple of days. (I deal by drowning out the sound with music, but watching videos is more taxing.) Sigh.
Lyrics Guessing Game, suite et fin. Answers & winners behind the cut!

and a aerial song was playing in my mind... )

Aaaand, that's it. If any of these tickle your fancy, ask and ye shall receive... Thank you for playing, everyone! ♥
Who wants to play a round o' lyrics-guessing game?

Under the cut, the first lines to 100 random songs picked off my playlist for y'all to ID. Some of them even have the title in their first lines, some are what I assume to be classics, so every player should recognize at least a couple.

Rules are simple: No googling, pls. Half-points are granted for incomplete answers (i.e. title without artist or vice versa). Game will be running all week. Comments are screened, winner gets bragging rights. Oh, and did I mention NO GOOGLING? ;)

Good luck, all! :D

for the joy you bring won't mean a thing... )
To all my American friends, happy 4th of July! ^^

It's boy bands revival time over here! ROFL. [livejournal.com profile] x_emy_x and I, being supremely bored yesterday, scoured YouTube for tacky 90's videos and I stumbled upon a few of Worlds Apart. Who here remembers those guys? If you don't (or haven't ever heard about them), suffice it to say when the Backstreet Boys and N'Sync came to Europe, they opened for Worlds Apart. They were my first love, haha. I was hardcore. I hadn't listened to them in years! LOL, they were so tacky. Let me waste a small part of your day with my reminiscing - I've embedded a couple of my YouTube findings under the cut:

why can't i pick up the phone just to call you like before (ooh ooh) ? )

In conclusion: HAHAHAHAHAHA OMG! I loved them liekwhoa. I found a couple of those guys' MySpaces pages, LOL. They're supposed to make a comeback in the fall. I AM SO THERE. XD
Random lyric postage! Yay!

Incubus = ♥ )
I know I make you cry, I know sometimes you wanna die
but do you really feel alive without me?
if so, be free... if not, leave him for me
before one of us has
accidental baby.

(Accidental Babies)

Damien Rice, folks.

Do yourselves a favor, and give his new record a listen. iloveitsomuchomg. I have a growing backlog of comments to leave and to reply to (and I will), but instead I had to post this quick pimp, because, well, because it seemed of the utmost importance for me to share my sentiment on 9. Oh! "Is he dark enough, enough to see your light?" Guh! How great and heartbreaking is that? The lyrics just slay me, in pretty much every single song. But that's not new, O's were all pretty dang wonderful, too. I won't even try comparing, by the way, because O is one of my favorite albums ever, but I will say that, as its long-awaited follow-up, 9 does not disappoint. And if you never fell in love with either Cannonball or Prague or The Blower's Daughter or Cold Water or any other of Rice's beautiful songs, then, guys, I don't even wanna know you! (Kidding, mostly.)

I know I've left you in places of despair
I know I love you, so please, throw down your hair
...
we could make babies and accidental songs.

(Animals Were Gone)

Answers to the lyrics meme and download links under the cut. Yay!

and the winner is... )

ETA: "Dude, that was Scott."
The lyrics meme, stolen from a bunch of people.
Put your iTunes/Winamp/WMP/whatever on shuffle and type out a lyric from each of the first 20 songs, have people guess what the songs are, etc. You know the drill.
