p.s. I saw Watchmen today and it was as awesome as the everybody else is telling you it is. :D
This year I decided that I would...

See a lot of movies. )

Watch a lot of TV. )
Have a post of random fandom-y things with your morning/lunch break coffee! :)

BEST. FANVID. EVER. The Office + Love Today = gold.

Drive continues to be awesome. (Damn it! ^^)

This week's House was complete lolfulness ♥ One of the better episodes this season, I say. Also, the boy with the crush on Cameron is the same kid who plays Bryan Greenberg's son on October Road, where he gets to be a lot more adorable. Little poll and theory on House ships. )

Lastly, a meme stolen from [livejournal.com profile] merry_holdwine:

Put your favorite movie that the corresponding actor stars in, and then add one actor to the end.

cast in order of appearance )

I left blanks where I couldn't think of anything.
I just got back from seeing X-Men: The Last Stand. Yes, huzzah for my local theater! Well, I'm not going to spoil any, but the short of it is, I had high expectations for it and it left me utterly underwhelmed. If not all-out pissed-off, I'm still deciding.

The beginning is all right, and then it quickly fades into the "Who the hell wrote this sub-drivel?" show. The dialogue is cheesy double-fat cheese cheese, and good gravy! The characterization! *brain fries* Basically, EVERY ONE was dumbed-down as low as they possibly could stoop, until they were conveniently disposed of, one by one. I cannot believe some of the crap that happens to them. It's like, *blinkblinkjawdrop* That didn't just happen. *blinkblink* *facepalm* *cringe* And okay, Storm's eyes turn white when she changes the weather, WE KNOW THAT ALREADY. Can we say "annoying"? (Oh yes, we most definitely can. Sheesh.) And the timeline is definitely the most screwed-up I've ever witnessed in my LIFE. Laughable, really.

On the bright? side, there were quite a few Typical Fangirl Moments. Which isn't the most intelligible reaction you expect a movie to create, anyway. I highly doubt this was the type filmmakers had in mind: omgthehood!!*gasp*OMG!! TEH!! HOOD!! adsdalkkajhkjh *deddedded* You'll know what I mean. I'm of the Hugh-J-is-sex-on-legs persuasion, by the way. Also, if you're a ship-whore like me - subtext ALL over the frakking place, it's crazy.

Final scene broke my heart, but the ending as a whole? Made me pinch myself. My gosh, I'm going to wake up and see the real thing tomorrow. And bam, end credits, lights, this was supposed to be it. Pfyeah. When I'm all bitched out about this, I'll watch my DVDs of the first two again and pretend this one never happened. Because, just... It shouldn't.

p.s. Angel = awesome. Too bad he was so outrageously underused.

OMG, I just finally saw the Big Damn Movie. *DED*

Shortest 2 hours in my life. Love these characters so much. Can't form proper thoughts.
I watched Insomnia tonight, and my goodness, I'd forgotten how much I love Al Pacino. I worship the guy. He's perfect in everything, it blows my mind. The movie was really good, too. Recommended. Of course I might be biased, because it has Pacino, it has Robin Williams, Maura Tierney, Jonathan Jackson... By the by, I so could've been casting director's assistant... Or something. Okay, but the whole thing is worth a look, honestly.

I should add to my list of resolutions, stop giving all of my (fast-running) money to Amazon! I just ordered seasons 9 and 10 of Friends on DVD, because, I'm ashamed to say, I did not yet own them. *gaaaasp* I almost didn't type "of Friends" there, because it's so evident that I should have all of it already by now. I grew up on that show, I learned English from that show, and for years and years it's had this HUGE influence on me. Been a while since I last watched a tape, now. Actually, they still sold them season sets in VHS sets, that's how long it's been. I think I was so crushed that it eventually came to an end - even though I agreed that it should - that I distanced myself from it to, I don't know, shield myself from the blues? Say what you will, it really was the end of an era. But I'm definitely ready and eager to look back, and it's high-time I should! Yay, Friends! That being said, really now, I've gotta stop visiting Amazon.

Oh oh, quick LJ question! Does anyone know how to change a personal journal into a community? I didn't think to make my creative journal a community when I started it, so now I constantly have to log out and log in again whenever I want to post something and/or reply to comments left on it. It gets annoying after a while. (And holy gee, someone nommed an icon of mine in a weekly awards comm' thing! Eep!)

  1. closer:
The movie, I love it. It's definitely peculiar, you walk out from the movie unsure of what its point really was, kinda like "heh, that was nice but weird". And then the meaning gradually dawns, I suppose depending on what you're going through. You can never know how far love will make you go.
  2. drew fuller:
Eh, he's just pretty. I haven't seen a lot of his projects, just a few Charmed episodes and thought, "damn, there's a sight that won't hurt my eyes". So shallow. Yeah.
  3. fruits basket:
One of my favorite manga! Friggin' cute and the story's good enough. Kyou/Tohru 4eva!!!!!!1one!!
  4. jack/sun:
My highly-improbable-as-of-yet Lost ship (die, Kate, diiie!!). I just think they'd be a great pair, being both smart, sensible, and pretty as hell. And my favorite characters, I guess that helps, too. But Jin used to be a jerk and now he's likeable and dammit, I don't want him to die just yet. Maybe I could take it if it meant for sure Sun would end up with Jack, but she'd probably have to kill Kate before that, and that's just not in her.
Oh, if you don't know who these people are, why the hell aren't you watching ABC, Wednesdays at 9?
  5. lost in translation:
My favorite movie EVER. Kinda funny, seeing as it's Sofia Coppola's second, following Virgin Suicides which I hated. Found that boring and pointless and just blah. Now, I hear that's what some people of think of LiT, and it drives me out-of-my-mind craaazy! Seriously, I beg of you, if you haven't seen it yet, rent it now! It's just SHEER BEAUTY, I swear.
  6. music:
Well, duh. You know what I like too? Water. And air. Different types of vital things. Music's on top of my list.
  7. photography:
I've recently taken a liking to it. I like taking uncanny/odd pictures, or just trees and sunlight. I love trying to capture certain lights. It's something I've found not as easy as it may seem, but it's so rewarding when you succeed.
  8. screencaps:
Well those are just useful, when you wanna make a wallpaper or icons of a particular TV episode or movie. I recommend [livejournal.com profile] cap_it to those looking for hq captures of anything.
  9. the color blue:
My favorite color, plain and simple. I like every declination of blue, and I find it to be a very appeasing color.
  10. wolverine:
X-Men movieverse, Hugh Jackman. 'nuff said.
