Heroes, 3x22: Turn And Face The Strange

I loved this so much! I thought it was an awesomely paced, well-rounded episode, and it made me laugh and cry and it's easily now in my top 5 favorite episodes. :D

Everything to do with Matt Jr. is still making me beside myself with glee, lmao. Ando's face had me in gigglefits. Also that is the most adorable TV baby ever.

HRG and Sandra, omfg, is the part where my heart just broke. (Holy Emmy tape, Batman Coleman.) Well played, Sylar. Well played. I think that feat alone warrants lifelong membership in the Evil League of Evil, amirite?

Now, apparently I'm alone in thinking this, but Mohinder's whole soliloquy on the Icarus myth struck me as possibly quite eloquent a foreshadowing of things to come. If we make the short leap that "gods" = superabled people, then that would make Mohinder the proverbial Icarus, and I wonder if I should worry about his chances of survival. Maybe I'm reading too much into this, and the wing imagery is a direct reference to Nathan and his ilk - though to be honest that seems a little too obvious to me.

We shall see. Regardless, I think this whole Project Icarus thing has plenty potential to be fascinating, and I can't wait to see what Angela and her congeneres have been up to at Coyote Sands.

I miss BSG so much also. I've been rewatching everything starting from the beginning. I forgot how Richard Gibbs's score for the miniseries is so different from, yet also so similar to, Bear McCreary's score for the rest of the series. Also, that five-minute continuous tracking shot through Galactica's hallways in the beginning of the miniseries still makes me swoon every time I watch it.

Kings is awesome, man. I have such a hard-on for Silas I can't even describe it. That whole sequence with David looking at the thermal image and Silas all "I don't care if the whole world dies as long as she comes out safe" was just gold. I must also assume that your haine for NBC has to do with the show's crappy ratings and the rumors the Kings is doomed for cancellation?

It's been SO long since I last saw the miniseries and first season. I wish I could watch them now, but my DVDs are all back home. Proximity fail. I do adore Bear McCreary's score, though. And his work on the Caprica pilot is breathtaking as well ♥

And right, I'm not a fan of NBC's relegation of Kings to Saturday nights. Not that I had a lot of hope for a second season, but still, it ~feels~ like they're kicking their own proverbial baby down proverbial stairs.

oh I loved the casting surprises on Chuck. And what I had thought the previous week and was right was all but forgotten watching this episode. I was sitting there sniggering at his dad going "Yes he is crazy, he thinks he travelled through time and commanded the Enterprise." LOL But I went with it. He was SO cute and SO awesome and OMG at the end I was having total flashes to Dr. Sam Beckett (OMG is that some reference you did there Josh Scwartz? Any relation to General Beckett there??? *glee*) and even begun to think it preluded that trip though the "future" there was 1999, so ultimately we're well past that. And Chuck's new boss? All I could think was "wow, he's put on weight!" LOL :$ *blames the fact last thing she watched with him was back in the 80's*

As far Heroes - HRG and Sandra broke my heart :( I'm sure I wasn't the only one screaming at the tv "Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Sylar is EVIL and strangely I was not concerned for my safety IRL - WTH? LOL *has been overly influenced by Zacharina* And I argue that Baby Matt is not the cutest baby on all tv (though him & Greg = adorable. And has also made Ando/Hiro LOLtastic again) - I gave that crown to Finn on Without A Trace - all cause of this scene = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgQ4dit4IPQ (He be gorgeous with that smile!)

House! I felt the same way when I saw episode 20 and literally forced myself to watch 21/22 just for the lovely Hugh Laurie. I think it sort of redeemed itself in the those episodes. I still miss Kal Penn. :(

I really feel that I should be watching Kings. I was interested before since it had Ian McShane. Then sort of forgot about it. But then I saw Ian on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, and now I'm interested again.
