Oct. 28th, 2006 10:37 pmbut do you really feel alive without me?
if so, be free... if not, leave him for me
before one of us has
accidental baby.
(Accidental Babies)
Damien Rice, folks.
Do yourselves a favor, and give his new record a listen. iloveitsomuchomg. I have a growing backlog of comments to leave and to reply to (and I will), but instead I had to post this quick pimp, because, well, because it seemed of the utmost importance for me to share my sentiment on 9. Oh! "Is he dark enough, enough to see your light?" Guh! How great and heartbreaking is that? The lyrics just slay me, in pretty much every single song. But that's not new, O's were all pretty dang wonderful, too. I won't even try comparing, by the way, because O is one of my favorite albums ever, but I will say that, as its long-awaited follow-up, 9 does not disappoint. And if you never fell in love with either Cannonball or Prague or The Blower's Daughter or Cold Water or any other of Rice's beautiful songs, then, guys, I don't even wanna know you! (Kidding,
I know I've left you in places of despair
I know I love you, so please, throw down your hair
...
we could make babies and accidental songs.
