I forgot all about doing this last week, so I figured it'd be the first thing I post about this episode. Yaypolls!

My thoughts, brief(ish)ly:
Peter in Ireland: Oh, I enjoy the view all right. Milo is damn fine. I thought it was a stupid line, for the mobster to say he was "home". Wtf? No. But let's not dwell on minor details. I pretty much loved everything here, from Peter's sheer confusion to his spontaneous use of powers. Caitlin (I can't decide how to spell her name, apparently) seems friendly enough. I didn't notice upon first viewing how Peter reacts to her mentioning her brother, but now I have, and what a brilliant touch. On a different note, the mobsters kept saying they WERE SENT to steal those iPods. No coincidence here, obviously. I am intrigued.
Claire in California: While I don't think it was necessary for us to see so much of her school day - the science class was way overdone - I can understand her identity issues and those are interesting enough for me, albeit largely helped by Hayden's performance. Leaving her car unlocked, though? Unless it was an unconscious ploy for attention, it might the stupidest thing ever. I can see how HRG would be pissed, not about the cost - although it's still a mystery to me how he can afford to pay for that house and a brand new car for his teenage daughter on his Copy Kingdom salary, but because it is so damn careless. West is still creepotastic. Toe amputation/regrowth was pretty hardcore. Mr. Muggles is awesome.
HRG in cahoots with Mohinder: Just... yay! The man has a plan. As always. Also, nice call-back to Isaac, very cool. And OMG HAITIAN. Teehee, that look at the end. It would be quite pointless for The Haitian to remain silent all season, so I hope he finally speaks with HRG and gives us a name... for the love of Pete. Anyway, yes. Eight paintings! Meaning, if they find the remaining seven before the killer finishes off his list, they can effectively go after him. Not that they'll be able to do much to stop him, judging by the various talents he's displayed thus far, but just the thrill should be worthwhile.
Hiro in Feudal Japan: As predictable as that plotline started out, the execution is so funny and esthetic, you've gotta love it! The dialogue is brilliant, especially, but even underneath the comedy is a touching high-stake story and - yeah, I love it. <3 OMG THEY KILLED KENSEI! BASTARDS! Oh, wait, no. They didn't. :D Regeneration FTW! Unless that was something else? It could be that he's immortal, ne. Though, I don't know if that's even different or, in the case of immortality, what would define the age at which one stops getting older. Heh, it probably is regeneration. Either way, it's awesome because Kensei isn't allowed to dieyet ever.
Mohinder in Haiti: Firstly - heeee! Pasdar and Coleman video'd the BOB'S OFFICE set onto YouTube right here, bwah! XD (I flailed ostensibly upon recognizing it.) Secondly, I don't know how it's even possible, but Mohinder keeps getting hotter and hotter. OMG SRSLY! Killed me dead. And that was BEFORE he even uttered the first French word. That... deader-than-dead-killed me. *insert dead-crazy amounts of keysmash here* And it was good French at that! The phrase in my entry's title? That is a complex sentence with a very complicated conjugation (subjunct conditional) on an irreguliar auxiliary, and just, shkdljdahlhsd. Accent was also lightyears ahead of Mama Petrelli's, for comparison's sake. This all indicates that Mohinder actually knows French, and didn't just learn a few useful phrases on the way to Haiti. AWESOMECAKES! Francophony, represent! \m/ LOL. I also just realized Sendhil played it with an Indian accent, as opposed to his natural American - am very impressed. But enough with the linguistic geek-out.
Hello, Haitian! That was so completely made of awesome. LOVE. IT. The ~*~mindwipe~*~ scene was such a cool visual effect! Then, when Mohinder came home to Matt and Molly soundly sleeping? Awwwwwww!!! *draws sparkly hearts all over their apartment* And! Sekrit phonecall with HRG, omg, the subtext of "working late" and "don't even ask" sent my thoughts spinning, as you can imagine if you know me at all. :p And then my heart broke for Matt a bit, already cheated on (again!) so soon after finding domestic bliss. Aw.
Maya and Alejandro in Guatemala: "Nadie puede la curar! Está maldita!" Hehe, I love how multilingual the show was this week. May it stay this way for a while. The Irish mob should speak Gaelic, y/y? LOL. Back to the characters at hand, we're gradually learning more about how their powers work. You really don't wanna make Maya cry, basically. Unless her brother is there to SING LULLABIES TO HER OMG <3 At first, since the writers seem to be duplicating powers so much this season, I figured maybe Alejandro's was similar to The Haitian's - annihilating other people's abilities. It doesn't seem that way anymore; it's more like he absorbs Maya's kill-all energy (or whatever you'd call it) and reverses it - willingly. Whereas Maya can't control her power, it appears Alejandro can. Very interesting, indeed.
Angela in custody of the NYPD: hahahaha she slept with Kaito Nakamura! XD That's awesome. And I love how she tricked Matt at his own game. And I love how she almost got killed right there, LOL. Maybe that'll teach her some humility/appreciation for what/whom she still has (hint, hint). But wait, the helix is the Petrelli lawfirm logo? What the hell? I swear one of the boys asked someone what it means last season. Dammit, now I'm doubting it, but I was so sure. Anyway. Husband wronged in love affair + wronged husband's trademark on death threats? Why, if said wronged husband wasn't dead already, methinks he'd make an excellent suspect. Hey, wasn't Petrelli Sr. supposed to have a power, as well? DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUN.
Nathan and The Beard in passing: there was NOT NEARLY ENOUGH Nathan to satisfy the fangirl in me. Also, Adrian Pasdar lied again! Damn him, LOL. I am never trusting another word out of his mouth, as far as Heroes is concerned. *huffs*But I still love him anyways. I love how all these characters are meeting again and like, "I know you, right?" And I know it's been said Matt should remember Nathan from Kirby Plaza, but I'm not so sure. He was knocked-out completely by the point Nathan showed up, and even if Matt had still held on to a smidgen of consciousness then, a) it would be extremely fuzzy in his mind and b) he was too far to make out Flying Man's face clearly. Which, either way, would not be helped by the beard. As for Nathan, he definitely would not have seen Matt lying there half-dead. So, it makes sense to me that the only encounter they'd recall would be in Texas. WITH PETER. <\3
Also, Nathan shows up at the police station after Angela's claimed she wants her lawyer. I wonder, would she call on Nathan to fill that duty? It would make sense, given she probably used to rely on her husband when he was alive (as evidenced by Nathan's "she doesn't have anyone else" if we're really talking lawyers here.) That said, with the state Nathan's currently in, I do have to give her credit for possibly trusting him to do his job right, possibly just wanting to get him out of the house and doing SOMETHING with his life. Possibly both, possibly more. Good on you, Angela. You've gone up one small notch on my esteem-o-meter.
Aaaaaand I think that about covers every one. In case I haven't made it clear enough, I loved this episode liekwhoa! :D I'm looking forward to seeing Sylar again, and I've no doubt the writers have cooked up something interesting for the Sanders as well, so yes, GREAT SEASON AHEAD, I'm sure.
Paradoxically enough, I've decided to go spoiler-free(ish) and not watch any NBC promos for upcoming episodes anymore. I'd read a few reviews of the season premiere before I was able to eventually see the episode, and while I still enjoyed it tremendously, I found myself responding to everything much more vividly this week, going in completely unaware. So, from now on, you'll see no remarks (or poll questions) referencing spoilers from me, and I do hope you'll please remember not to allude to them in your comments as well. ♥ Blind speculation, however, is still more than welcome. :D

Date: 2007-10-03 12:23 am (UTC)So:
1. I'm not actually insulted by the "Love Triangle Of Cute Doom in Feudal Japan". I just can pick side. (>.<)
2. Best line(s): I went with Momo... But "Why does he keep saying his own name?" is
missing anda close second. (^_^)3. I really do wonder how much extra they had to pay Milo to put on the plaid... I mean really. Milo... in plaid. *check to see if hell really did freeze over* o.O
4. Is it wrong that I squeed at the M (side by side... by side) action.
Cause I did. (^.^) / (>.<)♥ for you poll. XD

Date: 2007-10-03 12:49 am (UTC)Heh. I actually wrote up a crack-tastic explanation for the plaid in my review. Because there is no way our Fashionista would have worn that without some drama on set. XD

Interesting, didn't think of that.
So I've been thinking. Momo's DNA is healing I think, not just his blood. What if Sylar gets sick? There's SO many other ways to get cured (A)
Sylar: "Momo, I haz a snotty snose..."
Mo: "Again?" *unzips pants*
Damn, no time to respond more right now, later, k?

Iiiiiiiii, oui !!!
