So, I was going to collect my thoughts on the latest Heroes episode, and then the hottest Zachary Quinto video ever happened, making the simple process of stringing together cohesive sentences infinitely more difficult. I still tried.

As a preamble, I'd just like to state my love for Tim Kring and the producers on Heroes, who all seem like remarkable people in intelligence, thoughtfulness and talent. If that sounds gratuitous - blessed be, ye sheltered soul. I have joked in the Summer hiatus that, should certain characters *cough*Nathan*cough* not survive, I'd be hatin' on their bums for all time, but I was hardly serious and never malevolent.

The truth is, I admire Kring's excellence in crafting these stories and characters that I have instantly felt involved in, no matter the various reactions brought out. To this day, in times of uncertainty about where this season is going, what the WGA strike means for the show, how it's going to affect stories and storytelling, etc. I uphold that opinion maybe now more than ever. I trust that there are people in command who love Heroes just as much as we do, if not more, and will always do their hardest to make it the best that they earnestly can. Sometimes, that means bold choices, taking chances that don't go over too well with the broad audience. Tough. I am just thankful that they are still taking them, and I hope creative licence never gets taken away for the sake of playing-it-safe, fan pandering or superfluous ratings stunts.

I would have been okay with Nathan dying in How To Stop An Exploding Man. It's hard for me to explain or justify, because he is my favorite character, other than to say it would have made sense within the story. I'm glad the writers eventually went a different route, and I hope we get to enjoy the character for many seasons to come, but I would have understood it and supported it. Not out of blind love - but because I could see the reasons for it and the richness of the ideas behind, both of which things are key to my enjoyment of any form of writing.

And that concludes my sappy moment. ;) I'll now get to the episode. (Rock on, writers! ilu.)

Heroes, 2x07: Out Of Time

This one was fast-paced, tightly-cut, and loaded with both action and exposition. In other words, pretty much hell to redact a comprehensive and structured review about. I said hell with structure, and went character by character. Please pardon the scatter which follows. I blame Zach. ;)

  • Peter
Um... decontamination team shove them down on top of garbage bags and ask Peter and Caitlin if they've shown signs of infection. The mind boggles.
But: NEKKID PETER YAY! \o/ That shot through the grid fence was very artful and nice (i.e. want iconses, plz). Poor Peter, though. And wow, is the pandemic nasty. Tough WEEK? *gulp* Let's note also the first case of the Shanti virus was supposedly declared on March 20th, 2007. Would that be Niki, then?
I loved Angela here. I love how she wasted no time in just flat out TELLING Peter who he is, not even pausing to answer his questions at first. And! She wants him to go back and save Nathan, d'awww. Speaking of which fateful event of doom, I am not onboard with that just yet and Nathan is not allowed to die at the moment or ever more.
Now I've got that out of the way; is anyone else thinking Angela's power is the same as the Parkmans'? Said Bob, "Anything the brain controls, you control. Senses, actions, thoughts." Something to keep in mind, I reckon.
Lastly, re: the footage of Peter in custody of the Company, I KNEW IT. May have been obvious, heh, but confirmation is always a treat. I have a small set of speculative ideas regarding Adam and how he came to escape the facility now, but those rely significantly on the preview for the next episode, so I'll keep them to myself for now.

  • Matt
EMO PARKMAN OMG! So much love. I wanted to reach through the screen and give him a big hug. And what's funny is, it's pretty much every fanfic story come true, LOL. Good job reading the character, o fandom. Anyhow! The cuteness with Molly just about keeeeeled me happy! :D
Maury needs to die. Ha, I'm so reckless, when Matt was checking for a pulse I was like, "shoot him in the head, shoot him in the heeead!" regardless of the fact that Molly was right there. >.<
Aside from that, nice to see his powers expand. Some might say that was fast, but stressful circumstances have always been a trigger, so I'm really not bothered by it. It's also great to see Matt gaining confidence, not just in his powers but in his own person. Hopefully this will give way to a more assertive Parkman, one who won't be pushed around anymore.
I wish we could have seen more interaction with Mohinder, but I understand there was very little room for that.

  • Mohinder
"Bob is morally gray at best!" Hee. Indeed he is. I wonder if Mo picked up the phrase from HRG. Speaking of whom, people are calling Mohinder dumb once again but this once, I beg to differ. For once, we're privy to a logical, understandable, relatable process of information through which his confusion is perfectly justified. I'd be interested, however, to find out if Molly's recovery would have influenced his choice to come clean to Bob.
Also, OMG I LOVE MOHINDER. Also, I need to karaoke my heart out to "I'm alright, I'm alriiiiiiiight; it only huuuurts when I breeeeeeeaaaaatheeee." Just because. And the broken nose amuses me, for reasons inferable from Sendhil's commentary on Godsend. XD
Having said this, I will cry buckets of white-hot tears and cut Mohinder out of my will if he shoots HRG to death. D:

  • Niki
"I can be persuasive." LOL. I think Ali did a fantastic job in this episode, be it in her active scenes or background reactions. And as a side note, the combined gorgeousness of Sendhil and Ali in the same scenes almost gave me a heart attack. GUH! Someone in the photography department loves them (and us).
At first, I wasn't sure why the hell she should inject herself with the virus but on second thought, she did hear it took away abilities and may still have been convinced, despite Maury's previous hold on her, that she hadn't seen the last of Jessica. Besides, she was told Mohinder's antibodies cured the virus, so I've made my peace with it. Now she needs to die, because if the virus acts as an STD, going by the looks exchanged this week, Nathan is next. XD
It was awesome to see D.L. again, even if he wasn't real. I may or may not have squealed when I saw LR's name in the credits. XD
Who else thinks Bob is a big lying liar? He set out for Maury to be injected with the virus vial (-A-L, people. Vile is an adjective), and to that end, assured Mohinder he would be able to fight it off later. As we later found out, this vial contained a different strain of the virus. Do we think that's a product of natural development, or active research? I'm leaning more towards the latter at the moment.

  • Nathan
"Uncomplicate it." Really? Uncomplicate? Come on, Nathan, we both know you've got better verbal skills than that. But I still love you anyways. Hee a;odhfsl chest hair. More seriously, I especially loved how keen Nathan was to call Bob on the Company's bullshit. He had this no-nonsense attitude that... Well, it was sexy. Matt Niki seems to agree. ;)
Everything involving Peter was amazing and made me clutch my heart! "Tell me, how do YOU lose someone?! >:O " AASDJH;LDHJA;JEDFHALJKHLKSLJa;lksfd, etc.
I want Nathan back with Heidi! Seems a shame though, to let his chemistry with Niki go to waste. Heh, manwhore!Nathan needs to come back just a little. UNLESS THE VIRUS IS AN STD, obviously. I was kind of worried Niki would actually stab him with the needle, for a moment. But beyond that, it was actually a very nice moment, and a nice callback to Collision where they bonded over their kids. (Before having teh hawt sexx0rz!)
His hair continues to win at life. By a long shot. I think it's fair to say the days of The Beard are well forgiven and forgotten. If Nathan killed Mohinder, HRG, Peter, Sylar, every child on the show ever, and ate babies... I'd still love him, if only just because of his hair of win. Trufax.

  • Claire, HRG
West is such a creep. And Sandra should know better than to let in 'friends' of her family after what happened with Sylar invading their home. Oh, wait, The Haitian took care of that. Okay. Well, doesn't make West any less creepy. Also, wtf West, "is this some sort of trap?" Um. Yes, 'cause Claire LURED you into her house, as we all know.
        Hallo thar Nada Surf!! \o/
Oi, big fight with HRG. No good will come out of this, but I appreciate Claire's frustration as well as HRG's fears. Both of them are being quite stupid about it, but that doesn't lessen the blow any.
Haha: Abduct the Cheerleader, Save the Stripper. Awesome. Mohinder expresses reasonable concerns that HRG won't let them get to Claire without a fight, but I wonder about Nathan? If he's even let in on the plan (which, admittedly, is doubtful), shouldn't he stand opposed? Or would the prospect of curing Niki be enough to convince him?

  • Hiro, Kensei
It's all so sad! He stills calls him 'Carp,' omg. Kensei was hurt so bad and Hiro knows it! He still has FAITH in him, d'aww. "You taught me how to love," eeeeee. No, seriously, the whole thing breaks my heart. Hiro's face when the tent blew up, too. Pukaaa. :(
The goodbye exchange between Hiro and Yaeko was very sweet, though I still disapprove greatly of their so-called love. What great love that was, when back to present day with Ando all of Hiro's sorrow has evaporated entirely. To think he's lost Kensei's loyalty over it, makes me sad all over again.
I am delighted, however, to see the Yamagato BFFs back together again! Hee! I do wish someone would tell them about Flying Man already, because Hiro's quickness to take credit for stopping the bomb doesn't sit perfectly well with me. :p
Did you catch what Adam told Peter? "You and I are going to change history." ahfdaljhdfl. Kensei still carries the imprint Hiro has made on his life. ;_; Want sappy reunion omg.

In conclusion: I have nothing but love for this episode. NOTHING. LOVEEEEEEE. :D :D :D

I agree with pretty much everything you said except this: Now she needs to die

If they kill off Niki, I'm gonna be real pissed. My favorite characters always either die or move to Chicago. Please let them kill the wonder twins or Monica.

    ZQ video of WIN! *faints*

My love for Niki has grown since early season 1. I love Niki and her scenes were fantastic. As much as I liked Heidi/Nathan I love the idea of Niki/Nathan. Their scenes in S1 were great and now is S2 OMG YAY! I freaked out during the whole virus injection scene. I must have blinked at exactly the wrong time, because I couldn't figure out if she injected herself or Nathan. I was freaking out. LOL

I can't believe I totally skipped over Hiro/Kensei when I wrote my reaction. *needs to go fix that* It breaks my heart how hurt Kensei is:( And although I loved the farewell between Yaeko and Hiro, I couldn't h elp but feel as if that part of the arc ended strangely. I can't really explain it, but something about the whole ending to Hiro is Feudal Japan felt awkward to me.

And I missed the West stuff too (Wow I really need a reaction post update. Seriously). OK, it was really creepy and kind of rude of West to invite himself over for breakfast. Especially after Claire telling him about her daddy not wanting her to have a boyfriend. But despite that, I still really like West. I might be in the minority, but that's ok:) I'm kinda curious to know a little more about him. Right now, it's all a big mystery:)

Abduct the Cheerleader, Save the Stripper
LOL:) Mohindy better not kill HRG. That is all I have to say about that. He shoots HRG and he'll have to answer to me. I'll find a way. You'll see :)

    Fantastic episode! YAY HEROES!

Definately agree about all the Nathan stuff!

    Hair = ♥
    Nathan = ♥ ♥

I was so scare Niki would stab him with that needle! Especially because of what Angelina said to Peter about him dying in the first wave. :-(

I want Nathan back with Heidi as well!! Nathan and Niki definately have chemistry but I love Nathan and Heidi! X-D They are adorable and she brings out the compassionate side of him! Plus you gotta think of the kids. ;-)

Anyways it definately was an awesome episode, especially for good 'ol Nathan (wish there was more of him though)!!

Waiting impatiently patiently for your poll! :-)

    Sorry for the Spam. (>.<)

    Hee. Me Too!

Aside from that, nice to see his powers expand. Some might say that was fast, but stressful circumstances have always been a trigger, so I'm really not bothered by it.
Nor am I. I mean look at how fast Sylar (and Peter wreaklessly) seemed to pick up abilities. Matt just hadn't known. ;)

It's also great to see Matt gaining confidence, not just in his powers but in his own person. Hopefully this will give way to a more assertive Parkman, one who won't be pushed around anymore.
I certainly hope so. Seeing how he's save Molly now, I think we're gonna see one bad MotherSHUTMYMOUTH!

Speaking of whom, people are calling Mohinder dumb once again but this once, I beg to differ. For once, we're privy to a logical, understandable, relatable process of information through which his confusion is perfectly justified.
I can agree. I wouldn't say dumb, but hasty in his actions & decision-making; something any person in his position would have been prone to.

It was awesome to see D.L. again, even if he wasn't real. I may or may not have squealed when I saw LR's name in the credits. XD

    Here Here

    But: NEKKID PETER YAY! \o/
At which point I said "Is there a whole point to seeing how many times we can get Peter shirtless this season?" LOL Seriously. I understand that it's nice to appeal to the fandom so all the fangirls can squee, but SMALL DOSES ok? We don't want everyone turning around telling Peter to throw his shirt back on... but then again it's just a new addition to the drinking game - one shot from everytime Peter appears shirtless LOL

That shot through the grid fence was very artful and nice (i.e. want iconses, plz).
:D Can't fill that request for you BUT I must agree, and at that point I think I raised the "Save Caitlin" flag. Cause she is likable enough to keep on the show, and when fandom is actually in support of a female character in Heroes, I think they should be grabbing onto them with both hands and raising their status from guest to permanent star. And, let's now admit, this is what they should have aimed for in the "person without powers but understanding of them" when they were carving out Simone.

Let's note also the first case of the Shanti virus was supposedly declared on March 20th, 2007. Would that be Niki, then?
OH brain freeze. I immediately thought Molly. I however think you are correct. And Zarina totally psychic because she thought this was the case at the start of the season, not ... what is it, 6 episodes in?

is anyone else thinking Angela's power is the same as the Parkmans'?
No. In fact my brother & I instantly started speculating and I raised the suggestion that she had the polar opposite power of the Haitian - that she was able to implant memories instead of taking them away. It'd be an easy way to keep Nathan under control if he was easily susceptible and gives me a good excuse to say PAPA PETRELLI IS NOT DEAD!!! Even if Pasdar says he is, I still think it's a faked-his-own-death conspiracy, though if that were her power I'm surprised she hasn't used it more. Like to convince Nathan Peter really was dead. Or something. And can I say if that's the case that Peter was AT the company, how could she not know?? o.O (ok, yes, we know she's sort of independant from them, but she must have had an inkling).

The cuteness with Molly just about keeeeeled me happy! :D
Yes. My heart broke :( AND I had more thoughts... kind of like Kring suddenly got this wild idea this season (being as it's all about family & generations) that he would have liked to have a single parent father-child relationship with abilities.... (ok I never actually thought of the Sanders-Hawkins family til this second, but anyway...) so he manipulated Matt's story to change it to that. But really, you just have to die at the cuteness of Molly. Sooo awesome. And Matt thinks he's her father now *glee*

    Maury needs to die.
NO! Though I think he kinda is now, or comatose at least I liked his little evil fantasy world powers. And he made me laugh that he'd turned Jessica into DL... though did we have to replay the DL finale death kinda scene?? Didn't make me sad losing him again (though if it had been Isaac's second third death I would have been mortified)

Aside from that, nice to see his powers expand. Some might say that was fast, but stressful circumstances have always been a trigger, so I'm really not bothered by it.
Ahh no-one should have a problem with that! It was the perfect way to do it, bit by bit, have them expand & grow little by little over a lengthy period of time. That's one thing that has annoyed me previously with this show - the fact someone can instantly gain a power & use it at its full capacity OR miraculously discover another power and know what to do with it. Like Peter's little fight earlier. I'm so glad Kring clicked onto that and began scaling it back so Peter couldn't use his acquired powers whenever he wanted to.

It wouldn't surprise me. Although the only reason I'd call him dumb is the blank look he gave at the Claire file... as if he didn't recognise her. Now I don't know if he was just playing that (being as we know he's capable of acting innocent but having a hidden plan), but I was all "MOHINDER!!! *slap* How could you NOT know who Claire is - the girl who put on an entire show in the finale and is the daughter of the person you're now conspiring with, but you know every detail about Niki and her life???"

And the broken nose amuses me, for reasons inferable from Sendhil's commentary on Godsend. XD
Oh observant one, do tell me - did one shot of the painting shown in the episode have Mohinder without tape over his nose? I saw him wearing it and snickered at the thought of the painting, but that random thought occured to me that it wasn't in the painting shot (I think prior to the mass burning)

XD
You know, at first I thought she stabbed Nathan. I think Kring implanted that thought in my head from Future!Angela. And I was all suddenly ZOMG NOOOOOOOOO!!!! And then 3 seconds later realised Niki had stabbed herself. And you are right, it was to rid herself of Jessica. That's the reason she went to The Company in the first place. *nods* (Though the fact Bob said "multiple" personalities all those weeks ago irks me, because that suggests she has more than one...) I think Niki is unsure of where Jessica stems from - if it's a power, the virus should take care of that. But then super strength was her power... so it's probably a well guarded secret - like how Sylar obtains powers. And yes, I was overjoyed to see Niki & Nathan in the same scene together. It took me a minute or two to realise they were in the same room, on screen together, and flash back to ssn1. And you're totally right about the whole kid-relating thing. Only Nathan was ever going to be able to calm her down. As much as I should be opposed to it, I can't help loving the link those two have between them.

Who else thinks Bob is a big lying liar?
*raises hand* ME! ME! And I think it's sooo cool that Nathan called him on it. Nathan is made of win. Right when everyone's all trusting, Nathan keeps raising the "sounds like Lindermann" case, just to remind everyone that Lindermann=bad. Even though he almost fell for it himself. And to suggest that he was working for KENSEI?!?!? I seriously can't see that happening. I couldn't see that man bowing to anyone. He had a corny, self-assured way about him. He was influential, not easily influenced. At least that was my understanding of the character. *shrugs* Are we saying Kensei is the ultimate bad then?? (He does at least get the one-up on Sylar for being immortal - he doesn't need all those powers. No, wait, are we going to now say he's Sylar's father?? LOL Okay... going out on a limb. Kensei wasn't even in the Company photo so I dunno what they're trying to get at.)

"Uncomplicate it." Really? Uncomplicate? Come on, Nathan, we both know you've got better verbal skills than that. But I still love you anyways.
Oi! Don't pick on Nathan's grammer :P That's Nathan's version of sarcastic retaliation. You make them feel stupid by using very understandable words. ;)

His hair continues to win at life. By a long shot.
That it does. He has to win best hair of the season!

West is such a creep. And Sandra should know better than to let in 'friends' of her family after what happened with Sylar invading their home.
LOL it's the Southerner in her. All hospitable. I love her whole "I love to meet Claire's friends!" thing because, well, that just made me flash back to Zach, and Jackie. My only issue was the "wait, you all said no boyfriend for Claire, and now you let in some random boy off the streets to cook waffles for her??? What's up with that?"

Also, wtf West, "is this some sort of trap?" Um. Yes, 'cause Claire LURED you into her house, as we all know.
haha yeah, my thoughts exactly. I was all "hello! YOU are the one that stalked her. YOU are the one that pushed for a friendship. YOU are the one who's convincing her to do bad things. YOU are the one who made her confess about her powers. YOU are the one who invited yourself in to cook waffles for breakfast (as a side note, if I were her I totally would have ripped into him being as their relationship was meant to be a secret, he told her to come up with an excuse for it, and then he shows up to prove to her parents she's a liar and he's really dating her in the meantime??? NOT HAPPY WEST!!!), where's all the Claire forcing you to do something stuff???"

    Oi, big fight with HRG.
Ha is it bad my fave moment of the fight was the whole "LOOK! There's Lyle!" one LOL They so gotta make him a bigger character, he just asks to have his storyline broadened from "random annoying brother in background" to "jilted brother who has to try and keep his sister's abilities a secret whilst living up to his father & kicking some serious butt"

Haha: Abduct the Cheerleader, Save the Stripper.
Ahh so you've come up with a new slogan now? :P You know I liked how they made the Heroes opening all green-like. Instantly made me go - VIRUS!!! So this'll be interesting. And what did Bob think Mohinder was - a blood bank??? How was he going to save hundreds of people they're injecting this virus into?? And HELLO big alarm bells should have gone off when he said Mohinder's blood will make them normal after curing the virus. When Molly had the virus, his blood only made her better. Her powers were still restored. Bad bad lying Bob.

Yeah I liked it, but I'm all for Hiro/Yaeko :P Do you wonder if the only reason Kensei ripped out his heart in the dragon story, it was because it wouldn't actually kill him?? Interesting, no?? Didn't the story say he ripped out his still beating heart (or am I getting that from something else...)?? So, he's still kinda selfish LOL He wouldn't do it unless he knew he could survive from it. But interesting that tasks achieved by 2 men will be all considered Kensei's achievements cause Yaeko said so. *shrug* I do believe however there's definately going to be a current-day war going on between them. Is that a possibility why Kaito was the first to die?? (Being Hiro's relative and all). And Ando + Hiro is so totally made of win. Terrific to have them back together.

As a preamble, I'd just like to state my love for Tim Kring and the producers on Heroes
    Hear, hear!

Let's note also the first case of the Shanti virus was supposedly declared on March 20th, 2007. Would that be Niki, then?
    I guess so.

Now I've got that out of the way; is anyone else thinking Angela's power is the same as the Parkmans'?
Nope. I agree with what someone told me, Peter was reading Angela's mind and that's how he remembered. Her power is going to stay a mystery, like the braineating from Sylar and the real secret behind Nathan's hair of guh.

re: the footage of Peter in custody of the Company, I KNEW IT.
I didn't... So who knew about it then? Angela?

EMO PARKMAN OMG! So much love. I wanted to reach through the screen and give him a big hug.
I was hugging my laptop for the duration of the entire episode.

Some might say that was fast, but stressful circumstances have always been a trigger, so I'm really not bothered by it.
Plus the dude lacked serious confidence last season, when he realised he could speak with Molly's brainwaves it gave him a boost of confidence.

It's also great to see Matt gaining confidence, not just in his powers but in his own person
    LOL ok, yeah.

Speaking of whom, people are calling Mohinder dumb once again but this once, I beg to differ.
I never thought he was dumb. Just naive and too good of heart in the Sylar situation.

I may or may not have squealed when I saw LR's name in the credits. XD
I lose, I hadn't noticed lol. But I already knew he was going to be in this episode though

Who else thinks Bob is a big lying liar? He set out for Maury to be injected with the virus vial (-A-L, people. Vile is an adjective)
    It's a vile vial though.

I want Nathan back with Heidi!
Me too. I really never got in the Nathan/Niki thing, Jessica just used him, ugh.

If Nathan killed [...] Sylar [...] I'd still love him
:O I have now ords. You don't want Sylar to kill Nathan to get the 5YG verse but you wouldn't mind vice versa? Tsk tsk tsk

    West is such a creep.
He made waffles (WAFFLES, WOOHOO!), that's sweet! Careless, but sweet.

The goodbye exchange between Hiro and Yaeko was very sweet, though I still disapprove greatly of their so-called love.
I loved the part where she said she'd keep the stories alive so little boy Hiro could fall asleep to them.

Hee, I figured you might object. ;) It's my protective side overtaking, I just don't want Nathan to get infected. XD

Who moved to Chicago? Don't you mean Phoenix?

Really, has Zach ever looked any hotter? I think not. *fans self*

I couldn't figure out if she injected herself or Nathan. I was freaking out.
    Haha, I know! I was like, "WHUT! OH NO YOU DIDN'T!!1! Oh, no. You didn't. :D" And breathed a huge sigh of relief. I like Niki all right, but I can't really say she's a favorite, so when it comes down to her or Nathan my mind's already made. :}

I think the 'romantic tragedy' part of the Japan storyline was glossed over too quickly. It took all of 2 minutes for Kensei to fall in love with Yaeko - to be honest, his connection to Hiro felt a lot stronger and more genuine to me. And generally, they all acted SO dramatic for having known each other about ten days. XD But then again, that could just as well be attributed to the comic-book-y aspect of the show, so I won't get too fussy over it.

The story of Claire and West has been dragged out for so long, I think a lot of people are just happy to be getting a small respite (if we are indeed)... I really like the actor who plays West, but the character isn't clicking with me, I have to say. I kind of hope he turns out to be evil with a hidden agenda, because that would justify his actions in a really cool way.

Mohindy better not kill HRG. That is all I have to say about that.
I'm with you. If you do hunt him down, though, send him my way after you're done. I'd like to give him a personal spanking or two, as well. ;) LMAO.

Yes, definitely have to think of Monty and Simon because OMG ADORABLE OR WHAT? I want to see more Daddy!Nathan. And besides, I always felt bad for Heidi that the MINUTE she regains use of her legs, her hotass husband shoots off into the skies and comes back forever changed. She was gypped out of crazy amazing legitimate rounds of hot sex, poor girl. :(

look at how fast Sylar (and Peter wreaklessly) seemed to pick up abilities. Matt just hadn't known. ;)
*nods in agreement* Not to mention, Matt's first manifestations came with nasty side effects: migraines, nosebleeds, syncopes/abductions... Can't blame a guy for not wanting to mess with any of that. While Sylar and Peter were always eager to master their abilities to their optimum potential, Matt was always more wary of his, only using it when it would spontaneously manifest or be required by his current circumstances.

I think we're gonna see one bad MotherSHUTMYMOUTH!
Yes plz! You don't know how much I fangirl 5YG-verse Matt and his eeevil ways. >:D Speaking of which, the question has been raised before of how he would get from the unsure hapless lovable woobie to that level of mean cold-blooded badassery, but I guess we know now. Threaten those he loves and Matt ain't kidding around anymore. Ooh!

I wouldn't say dumb, but hasty in his actions & decision-making; something any person in his position would have been prone to.
Exactly, but generally speaking, people don't cut even this much slack. Then again, his track record may be at fault here. XD

LOL, it's just so unbelievably unsanitary! Gods know what people throw out in the trash, could be germ-infected tissues of all kinds. Ew.

the vial of vile viral villainy
... "and you may call me V." XD

Although I liked Sandra's thing about not caring about the rest of HRG's call
Hee, Sandra is awesome. :D Seriously, I love her.

it really wasn't about Yaeko! It was about trust!
It MUST have been. When Hiro popped into their lives, Kensei knew Yaeko for about what, a couple days at best? And here we got SO MUCH DRAMA omg. It really is all about the boys' bond, which Hiro so inconsiderately broke. :(

Is there a whole point to seeing how many times we can get Peter shirtless this season?
Heehee. That Milo, talk about an exhibitionist. ;) To be fair though, it wasn't the main focus of my attention as the scene played out - but I sure can enjoy the view upon third and further viewings. *g* And new additions to the drinking game are always welcome, LOL!

Oh, you make an excellent argument for Caitlin there, I think I'm gonna ask you for one of those flags. It really is especially striking in counterpoint to Simone! Besides, it would be terribly sad for Peter to give up on her altogether, not to mention unlike his character.

There was some hinting at the start of season that Niki might have the virus, but as for being the first declared case... that does take psychic skillz to predict! Go, Z! :D

my brother & I instantly started speculating and I raised the suggestion that she had the polar opposite power of the Haitian - that she was able to implant memories instead of taking them away
Oooh, very interesting again! I did wonder, when Bob explained Matt's power to him, where that ends and The Haitian's powers begins. Eden's, too. And now Angela's, if it turns out to be something like you explained.

The issue of fatherhood on this show was never really explored in an absolutely positive or glorifying way before. You've got HRG who compromises so much humanity, Nathan absent by default, Chandra and Mohinder's jaded relationship, Maury running out on Matt, Matt divorcing his pregnant wife, DL... dead now. I think it's high time one father-child rapport (or two, if we include Mohinder) was portrayed as pure unconditional love. <333

Maury creeps me out sooo much! His power is amazing but it's so scary! Gah! At least he's out for now, heh. If he never wakes up, I'm okay with him living. XD

I'm not bothered too much by Peter's seemingly out-of-blue use of powers, because he's a character that relies on instinct and emotion so much. It makes enough sense to me that unknown abilities would manifest when he absolutely NEEDS them to. I haven't had a problem with it. I'm glad he's not become instantly all-powerful, though.

MOHINDER!!! *slap* How could you NOT know who Claire is - the girl who put on an entire show in the finale and is the daughter of the person you're now conspiring with, but you know every detail about Niki and her life???
That was weird. On the other hand (playing devil's advocate), we don't know that he's seen her since that night at Kirby Plaza, and even then he never saw her make use of any outstanding powers. In fact, this could be where all his surprise resides. It may be that he has known (about) Claire for all the time he's been working with HRG - who never seems to shut up about "my family this," "my family that," anyway - but not that she had an ability. Hm.

Oh observant one, do tell me
There was a guard in the facility Niki/Jessica was held at, whose nose was broken. And in the episode commentary, Sendhil was all like "LOL THIS POOR GUY IS ONLY CREDITED AS 'BROKEN NOSE' LOLOLOL THE CHARACTER DOESN'T HAVE A NAME SO THAT'S WHAT GOES ON HIS RESUME LOLOL! XD"
And so now, I am kinda sorta gleeful that the writers have stuck Mohinder with a broken nose. I say this with love, of course, because I love Sendhil dearly. ♥

I don't recall whether or not the first painting had a bandage on it, though. I'd have to watch The Line again. (Oh noes, the torture! ;D)

I'll have to finish these replies tomorrow, as I'm due to give up the modem to my brother right now. (He's a pain - lol gratuitous info.)

Yeah, no I totally agree. I do like that his powers just pop up from time to time, and that he's not at all in control of it. That's where I think Kring stepped in and made it so. It was just the original thing where he walked out all "slam this guy, zap that guy" when saving Caitlin in the early eps. I was all "DUDE just woke up out of his amnesia. Give him some pacing!" cause he looked all 5YG & in total control there to me. Thankfully they've rectified that back to his ZOMG HOW DID I DO THAT? DID I JUST DO THAT?? surprise.

he never saw her make use of any outstanding powers. In fact, this could be where all his surprise resides.

Agreed, Nathan was win through and through! And I only tease because I love. ;D

As for Adam and Linderman, I guess there's a complex story there. Probably, they went different ways after a while and mayhaps not on the best of terms with each other. The picture of The Twelve seemed quite recent, as Angela, Kaito and Linderman didn't look much different (which begs the question: what happened to Maury?), maybe Adam had been ostracized for a while already. I suppose Linderman may have somehow manipulated the group into kicking him out, or some such thing. It would serve to explain his desire for revenge on ALL the elders, and not just Hiro's loved ones.

My only issue was the "wait, you all said no boyfriend for Claire, and now you let in some random boy off the streets to cook waffles for her??? What's up with that?"
LOL, exactly! But I do love how hospitable Sandra is. :D As for West, this definitely was not his finest hour. >_<

Ha is it bad my fave moment of the fight was the whole "LOOK! There's Lyle!" one LOL
No, I love Lyle! Haha, Bentley has great delivery, his lines are always memorable. And I love that half his conversations with his sister consist of "shut up, Claire!" and "shut up, Lyle!" XD
There was an awesome little Lyle fic not long ago, it was called Thicker Than Water and I don't have the link right now but I hope you can find it.

The green opening made me think of aliens for some reason. XD Then it was like, "omg West did say he was an alien! And Elle comes from Neptune! sljhs;jladkj," LMAO.

Heh yes, Bob's logic really seems quite faulty, doesn't it? Then again, it looks to me as if he always was full of crap, so... And Mohinder, as always, keeps on being adorably naive. Maybe he believed a new strain of the virus would be able to strip people of their abilities without causing any lasting damage to their systems?

    Team Kensei ftfw! :P lol

Do you wonder if the only reason Kensei ripped out his heart in the dragon story, it was because it wouldn't actually kill him?? Interesting, no?? Didn't the story say he ripped out his still beating heart (or am I getting that from something else...)?? So, he's still kinda selfish LOL He wouldn't do it unless he knew he could survive from it.
That would make sense, yes! That is, if the dragon story ever even happened at all. In the second episode, Hiro tells Ando how time exists in a never-ending circle. Subscribing to that theory, it may be that it was always Hiro who accomplished the trials of Takezo Kensei, and always Yaeko who told the story of the final battle with the Dragon. Then, the cutting-heart legend would stand as a metaphor for Hiro's sacrifice.

Or, in a different (original? altered?) continuum, Hiro left after Kensei defeated the 90 Angry Ronins and all of the stories Hiroshounen heard as a boy are factually correct. Still, I don't know that Kensei cutting out his heart knowing it wouldn't kill him is selfish! :p Granted, it's not as dramatically self-sacrificing, but the alternative - as I understand it - was giving Yaeko away to the Dragon. So this was just a win-win situation, I guess you could say. XD

Peter was reading Angela's mind and that's how he remembered.
Oh, I like that! I'm not sure I'm quite sold on it (must watch commentary) but it would fit.

Her power is going to stay a mystery, like the braineating from Sylar
I hope not, fans would be so pissed after a while. I see lots of people going "WHAT IS IT TELL ME NOW!!" and I can't see that lasting too long, or Tim Kring is going to have to make yet more apologies in the future. :\ Besides, "no answer is precious enough that we can't give it away," said the writers multiple times. That goes for both mysteries, I say! :p

and the real secret behind Nathan's hair of guh.
lulz, well Nathan hasn't flown for a while. The hair just wants to be in the sky! Also, ROFL someone on h-f mentioned Nathan was beginning to have a Wolverine style going on, upon which I was like, "OMGLOL that is not completely wrong! XD"

And now I just remembered you didn't see the X-Men movies. Woe. But anywayz:

I didn't... So who knew about it then? Angela?

It's not so easy to tell how much Angela is involved with the Company anymore. If she did know, and wasn't memory wiped, she must be reaching new heights in heartlessness. (My poor baby Nathan. <\3) Then again, maybe she was never made aware of the fact and genuinely thinks Peter dead. :/

I was hugging my laptop for the duration of the entire episode.
