Heroes, 2x04: The Kindness of Strangers

Okay, were those the shortest 42 minutes ever or what? Hee. I loved this episode so much! There was just one line of dialogue that I felt was predictable and out-of-place, but it really is a very minor complaint and I won't dwell on it. Everything else was made of awesome, and when all's said and done, it was a damn near perfect episode.

Has HRG been staring at the painting all night? o.o Anyway. 'Twas a good scene, I love Mrs. Bennet and Mr. Muggles.

Aw, poor Molly. :( By the way, Mohinder didn't come in long enough after Matt to have been in a different room. Hee hee, just saying. But wow, is Momo bitchy. Also, I'm sorry but...

Awww, Nathan really does love his boys doesn't he? ♥ Note they go to school in Washington, D.C., which makes me wonder when exactly Nathan resigned from his seat in Senate. As far as I recall, congressional sessions start in January (I believe it is now March), so I guess in the time between November 8 and Nathan's resignation, he moved to D.C. properly, and it's not until they settled there that he left his family (or Heidi kicked him out). It's all quite confusing. Anyhow, Nate and Petey Simon and Monty are adorable. Beard talk was gold. XD Also: «What do Petrellis do when they make promises?» «KEEP THEM!!1!» How freakin' cute. But the look on Nathan's face after they leave again, omg. <\3

Beeman says in his blog that originally, Nathan turned a corner into an alley and caught his disfigured reflection, before taking to the skies! fhalhfdjka. I hear TPTB's reasons for cutting the scenes, but I hope to gods this makes it to the DVD extras.

LOL, Maya is cute, too, with her excitement. zomg half-ded!Sylar :o

Monica seems awesome! Her brother not-so-much, heh. Nana doesn't seem to be doing much, for the time being.

Heh, I love how Angevila is like, "k, can it plz be jail tiem nao plz." Maybe she's in a strange funk as a late reaction to losing Peter, kind of like when she stole the socks after her husband passed. Or maybe she's really beginning to come undone. Interesting, either way. Oh and the way she communicated her thoughts to Matt? Was really awesome.

West wasn't as creepy this week, and I really like the moment when he and Claire fly off in HRG's back, LOL. Also, I like that in the beginning, Claire took heed of what her father said and set out to break things off with West. 'Course he had to go and win her over, but it's nice that she wasn't acting out of rebellion at least.

Matt and Nathan scenes = win win win all around. «Are you reading my mind right now?» «No... yes, sorry.» BWAH! xD Also: «I got a little girl at home (...)» Heeeeee! 1) Love how it's not even a question how fatherly he feels for Molly - and after finding out Janice's baby wasn't his, there's angsty fic waiting to be written, lemme tell you. 2) Mohinder's apartment is home. Yay!

Oh, that scene with Nathan and Angela was so rich. I can't even begin... For now, I'll only touch on the superficial: Pasdar is lookin' way hawt. Hee. Really.

OMG, I love the Sylar/Wondertwins dynamics. Man, are they in for a rude awakening. «Gabriel... Gabriel Gray.» NNNGH. Heartbreak, or what? I so loved that whole bit, with the broken watch and the glum in his tone and then Maya immediately drawing the biblical parallel. dkjhdhjl;sa. Well-played, Kring, well-played.

Ok, it's decided: I love Monica. She does her job singing! lol I so used to do that when I worked the McKitchen. Her tomato rose was so pretty. Also, her manager is Big Mike! Heroes/Chuck connections FTW.

ROFL, Claire goes "to the library" without a backpack or notebook or anything. I'm totally loving the Bennet family dinners, btw. Lyle made me LOL.

OMG Nathan's 17 gajillion pictures!!1 *squee* lolol he knew about Angela and Kaito. Uh.. was that a GREEN BRICK house in the picture with his sons? Heh. Poor Matt and his dumb ex-wife who's apparently back next week. Also: I swear my Post-Colonial Studies prof is in the elders' picture! (Ha, no, seriously, I freeze-framed on the picture and at Deveaux's right is a woman whom I thought I recognized... So I was like, where have I seen this actress before? I know I know her... OMGWTF MME COSSIC. :o )

Aaaand OMG Matt's dad is on the pic. OH THE DADDY ISSUES. Show, ilu long tiem. Now, time for me to 'fess up. Previously to my adopting a no-spoiler policy, I'd read spoilers up to this episode, which said Bob was Matt's dad. Well, it's a tremendous relief to me that those turned out to be inaccurate. I mean, really. Could you imagine Bob as Matt's dad seriously? (A: WTF NO! Do not want.) So, all's well now and I can definitely get excited about the storyline. Which I kind of already am. xD

I like that Claire wasn't too quick to trust West completely, but I guess that's more or less moot now. The part where she jumped and he caught her was good, though. Still, the dialogue was as cheesy as it gets, none-too-surprisingly.

Aw, Micah is totally adorable. Poor lovely kid. How sweet was he, trying to fix Monica's dreams? Not only that, but we're finally seeing him experiment with his power (does it work on people, too?) and that's great. That whole scene was great. The effects were really good this episode.

Uh-oh, trouble in paradise the house of M. :( That was freaky, the helix in Molly's eyes.

So, yeah, I loved it. To be honest, I didn't at any point wonder what Peter, Hiro or Niki were up to - which is not to say I'm not enjoying their stories, I guess it's more a case of the editing and pacing working really well. This week had it all: plot advancement, character development, great performances by the cast, and FX lightyears ahead of last week's. As I mentioned, some of the dialogue did leave a little to be desired, but even so, it was a really strong episode and I can't wait for the next. :D

Totally agreed. Also, be very proud of me, I am no longer reading spoilers (apparently the spoiler is even out there if the 8th painting becomes real or not!) and I haven't seen any sneak peeks for the next episode.
