Thoughts on Heroes, before I respond to anyone else's.
- Hiro is made of win. "Waffles are very good. You would like them!" LMAO. See? Made. Of. Win. His dad = pwned. His sister was nice, I guess. Interesting that the actress's name was actually Nakamura. While on the subject of names, I briefly wondered why, if it belonged to the Nakamura family, the company is called Yamagato. And then I remembered it wasn't likely to have much relevance in the future, so I killed that thought.
- Sylar is creepy. Creepier than ever, even. I'm glad Mr. Muggles wasn't harmed.
- "It's SO FUNNY how y'all all call him Mr. Bennet over there! I've always just known him as Stop-That-You-No-More-Shoes." Heh, some writer was poking some fun. Still, STYNMS is a much more pronounceable acronym than HRGM is, you've gotta admit. "Stynms." Try it. "Hrgm" just sounds like a mix of a grunt and a huff gone wrong.
- And wow, does Stynms have good aim. (Pfft, no, not even his driver's license had a first name on it.)
- Claude has the best lines! And also, he's a total whack-job. I did the whole OMGOMGOMG, hand-over-mouth, eyes-protruding-in-shock shebang when he threw Peter off the roof like that! :O I know Peter can't and won't die until at least season 15, but it was... shocking.
- Also, Mista Issaaaac! You sneaky littlecute puppy betrayer you! What happened to make him go from "o yayz Peter saved the cheerleader heeeee! :D" to, "Oh, you're looking to catch Peter Petrelli? Yeah, I'll help with that!" ?? Would that be related to Eden's untimely demise? DAMN YOU POST-FALLOUT TWO-WEEK GAP, DAMN YOU TO HELL. Also, I always reconstruct (Petrelli) canon in my head, and Nathan totally sicced Isaac on Pete, too. You know it. Only, the little handsome devil calls STYMNS first, damnit. :( I'd resent him a lot more if he weren't so earnest in wanting to protect Simone, and New York City. I blame Santiago Cabrera.
- Jessica, free. No good can come out of that, can it?
- I'm probably seeing things where it's crazy to even look, but I swear Meredith Gordon had a baby bump under that ample shirt.
- "I always imagined my parents lived in a penthouse in New York City." Dun dun duuuunnnn. Can we get a little more foreshadowing over here, please? Tsk. Premonitory imagination could be a shared trait between uncle and niece, eh?
- Claire and Meredith had a nice scene, I'm not sure I would drink a strange-looking proferred beverage so soon after meeting someone, but what the hell? She can't die, it's moot. I wonder, when Meredith tells Claire, "Some family," in that way that she said it, was she including daddy? Does she know about his ability? She mentioned something also about the building's roof, and I immediately jumped to, "Yes, Meredith, ALWAYS question the 'miracle'." Did Nathan fly Claire out of the building unseen?
- Oh, Nathan. <3 How I fangirl thee. There was clearly shock in that look, but anything else there might have been was pretty damn unreadable. (Pasdar for the win, by the way.) Meredith says, "she's alive." Is that what the shock's all about? Has he thought Claire dead all this time? And who in the Petrelli clan knows? Peter would have been 11, has he known his baby niece at all? Or, has Nathan known she lived and kept tabs on her all along? Is the shock about her finding Meredith? Did he know what high school she goes to? Oh! Think of the fanglee when Nathan finds out it's her Peter saved - no matter his actual feelings on that. So many questions *cough*plotbunnies*coughcough*, so little time until next episode...
- Also, because I can't stop myself: yes, people, genes are passed down from parents to children and grandchildren. IT'S THE ONLY WAY GENES ARE PASSED. I've read so many "oooh"s and "aaah"s about those family links between the superabled, and all I can think is DUH. (Though, I did fail Biology 101.) Remember Chandra Suresh? GENETICIST. Mohinder? SEXY GENETICIST. It's always been about the genes, can we get over the surprise now?
I've finished my Petrelli brothers fanmix! Hee. Well, an EP fanmix, but still. I like it. Will post as soon as I've got my hands on decent quality files and cover arts.
I was going to write a little about Studio 60, but I think I'll wait until tomorrow and bundle it in my 'House and miscellany RL' stuff post.
Big squee of the night: LOST COMES BACK TOMORROW! *SQUEE* Hence the icon. It's Claire (as in...) all HAPPY and SQUEEING and OMGYAY! It's kind of surreal, after such a long break. Was the Summer break even this long? I can't believe it's back. Tomorrow! The time has finally come. Gods, the hype!
