Heroes, 3x07: Eris Quod Sum

Really liked this episode, because or in spite of the following:

- I'm so sorry to be reacting this way, but Mohinder mostly just makes me laugh. From his opening line to his ~*~true feelings~*~ for Maya, not to mention his persistent willingness to test unstable formulae on unwilling people... I roll my eyes a lot. Having said that, I did appreciate his enquiry to Peter about his future self. It reminded me of Five Years Gone when he killed the Haitian to save Hiro because that's what Isaac's comic said he was supposed to do. But, LOL, he can fly now? LOL.

+ Speaking of which, a lot of this season's inconsistencies get a little bit more bearable if I just tell myself: COMIC BOOK COMIC BOOK COMIC BOOK. Because, really, it took Simone about three seconds to fall for Peter after he revealed his feelings for her, and that was fine at the time, because the show tries to emulate a comic book style. It doesn't justify everything the writers would have us buy into, but in some cases, it... facilitates transactions.

+ Robert Foster is kind of awesome, I've got to say.

+ PETRELLI DRAMA LLAMAS! Oh gawd. I'm so glad I enjoy all this stuff so much, I guess the show's not much fun right now if you don't. Of course, I still wish Nathan's children wouldn't have to call him for him to remember them; or that Peter and Sylar Gabriel's bond would've been given more time to develop to the degree where it exists right now, but overall I'm really happy that the whole huge mess that is this family, nay, dynasty, is taking center stage this volume.

+ Also, flashes of Arthur's funeral! Hee! Probably a taste of the next episode. I can't wait.

+ Elle and Claire! (Even though I hate Claire's hair at the moment, heh.) Granted, flying was kind of dumb given Elle's predicament. But still! I enjoyed their team-up a lot.

+ Elle seeking out HRG's help. Girl breaks my heart, to be honest.

+ "If she gives you any lip, you just toss a glass of water on her, Lyle-style." HEE. SANDRA BENNET, HOW ARE YOU SO AWESOME? :D

+ MATT AND DAPHNE, OMG. No, really, can we say OTP? Matt is so adorable. And he called Mohinder, hee!

- I'm not so pleased that he told Daphne to kill him and save herself, though, because as far as Matt knows, Molly's still around. And he's her hero, damn it. :( Molly needs to get back. Still, way to pwn Knox. \o/

+ Still, I kind of want a Matt Parkman of my own, you guys. <33333 "We're gonna love each other." SIIIGH. *draws hearts*

= I wonder what the Haitian thinks of HRG partnering up with Meredith. *heartbreak* What the hell, Noah.

+ Sylar has ALWAYS been emo. This is not something that bothers me in the slightest. Quite the contrary, actually. Good continuity. Which is a rare enough thing this season.

+ I like power-free Peter a lot. It's a small thing, but I really enjoyed him hiding from Mohinder at Pinehearst! :D

+ I'm so glad Arthur is Sylar's dad as well. Please, no half-siblings business.

- I think Jamie Hector is a fine actor, and I have tried to give Knox a fair chance as a character, but I actually really dislike him. Though it did amuse me that he would pause at the door to eavesdrop on Matt and Daphne.

+ Yay, Maury's dead!

- Bzuh, Maury cared about Matt's safety? Since WHEN?

+ "Believe me. Dads aren't always what they seem." BUUUUUURN!

LOL, these ~thoughts~ are all over the place. I'd apologize, but I'm too engrossed in my 4th rewatch to pay that much attention. :p

+ I'm glad Maya didn't want anything to do with Mohinder anymore. You go, girl. Also, her accent was back, lol.

+ "HELLO MOHINDER" AND THAT ENTIRE SCENE, ZOMG. *flails* By the way, Arthur's "and I've been waiting for him for a looong time," is another element that reminded me of Five Years Gone, particularly Sylar's "I've been waiting a looong time for this" as he cuts Claire's head open.

= Talking of Five Years Gone, what's the new consensus regarding Sylar's knowledge of his lineage? Was his "brother against brother" spiel nothing but a taunt at Peter as an abuse of Nathan's image, or did he actually know who his parents were? In the latter case, how did that affect or shape his viewpoint, from the moment he found out onwards? And when would he find out? How?

= LOL MEREDITH AND HER USELESS DEMONSTRATIONS OF PYROKINESIS. XD Also LOL at Nathan's face when he saw her. Lewd, much?

+ LOL FLINT. "If I find him, do you want him crispy or well done?"

'k, now I'm getting too specific. I can't do a scene-by-scene, but suffice it to say, episode went by way too fast and I can't wait for the next chapter. :D

Polls later tonight, as usual.

I was trying really hard not to dislike Mohinder in this episode, and not succeeding very well. Dude. He almost injected Peter with the formula. Not. Cool.

He's got just the right kind of menace for the role. Absolutely chilling. I love it. And I love the parallels that just keep coming between Peter and Arthur--not only in their powers, but the way they respond to the world around them. Peter's sure that Sylar saved his life because he thinks the best of people, and Arthur suspects the same thing because he thinks the *worst*. It's awesome.

Of course, I still wish Nathan's children wouldn't have to call him for him to remember them...

Sigh. Nathan's characterization is the one thing about this episode that was bugging me. I really don't think that he would have taken Tracy to Peter's apartment, for one thing. He's not usually one for sudden bonds and relationships. But it's a small nitpick in an otherwise awesome episode.

i like to think that the 5YG future is no longer a possibilty. the future we saw at the begining of this season is the 'new imminent possibility'

I'm loving the Petrelli drama too. No surprise there. I actually buy that the Peter-Sylar bond would form this quickly, because it's Peter's thing. "I wasn't leaving without you." Aww.

I want Peter to stay depowered forever. Seriously. It gives them so much more room to focus on his characterization. Also, Peter-Claire teamup for the win! It's so coming in the next few eps. Whee!!!

AND DID YOU SEE THE EMO-BANGS AT THE FUNERAL OMG.

I was thinking the same thing! But hey, they needed to be at Pinehearst very quickly to see Peter fall down the building *lol*

Matt is pure love.I thought they really killed him but I was soooooo relieved that it wasn't real!!!

"HELLO MOHINDER" AND THAT ENTIRE SCENE, ZOMG

Wasn't exactly how I imagined their reunion with hot, steamy sex but this scene was still pretty cool :)
