I think it implied that Sylar heard them, but--as is his current world-view--was waiting to see. Vortex-man wasn't ever actually close to going through with it, so he was probably watching.

And 'confused' face might have actually been 'wtf/hurt' face? :/

That's definitely an interesting thought regarding Sylar's power, I really like it. It crossed my mind briefly, but honestly, the writers don't have the best track record this season. :/ I guess it works if you ignore everything they've been saying online since "Powerless" aired, but they really need to clear up the situation one way or another.

Oh...well...that's easy for me, then, since I dropped out of the online fandom in...March or so xD And considering the various contradictions I've seen regarding different GNs, that's probably for the best
