Hee! I have a bajillion of your reaction posts opened in different tabs, I'll get to them right after I get mine down, untainted by exterior perception. (Lol, it's not you. It's me.)
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!
*insert lots of flailing here*
By the by, if you haven't seen 'em yet and clicked because you're impatient and the downloads are taking too long? I've got two things to tell you:
1) ♥♥♥
2) Do yourself a favor and skip this post for now! You won't regret it. :)
Also, the pre-show? Got me SO EXCITED OMG. Like, how I've been all day yesterday, times a thousand? LMAO, I was constantly going "omgomgOMGomg" throughout it all. As in, omg I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. <333
To say I've missed the show would be the understatement of the year. So! To the episodes...
Heroes, 3x01: The Second Coming
(a.k.a. "in which Nathan Petrelli = Jesus," rofl. XD)
AAHFDAHKDSSKL;JALK WHERE DO I EVEN START?
I loved the opening scenes. And I guess Future Peter's a great shot, heh. That was really cool. I kneeeeew something was off about Peter, it only made sense that his future alter-ego took his place. And zomg, Claire! ilu. Of course she'd want to give Nathan her blood. <\3 But the whole Peter thing was hella confusing. When Angela was talking to him, asking him to bring back her son and at the same time berating him for shooting his own brother, I was slightly disconcerted. But that was pretty much entirely dissipated when he was all forlorn about what he did to Nathan, even though I'm convinced he was mostly at his bedside to make sure he wouldn't try to make that specific speech again.
Also, of course: LOL ZOMBIE NATHAN! and LOL @ the moment he walked out of the hospital in the background of the news report on his condition. XD I'm not sure what to think about his ressuscitation (sp?). I'm ruling out Linderman on principle that he's all in Nathan's head (also LOL) and I'm ruling out "God" because such is my inclination. I think Future Peter (Futer? lawl) might have done it, maybe unconsciously. If he has D.L.'s power, he's got to have Linderman's, and he's used abilities beyond his control before, so it seems plausible to me that something like that happened here.
And to wrap up quickly on Nathan, I'm intrigued by his message. Kind of. It seems like a drastic change, doesn't it? But he seems to actually believe it. I think he always DID intend to serve the public to the best of his ability, but when he says "We're all connected" now, it sounds less like a fake crowdpleaser and more like a personal belief. As I said: intrigued. But... at times I just wondered if he was fucking with Peter, y'know, playing dumb? Because, lol, angels? If he's serious, I believe what we have here may be delusions of grandeur. Whoa! \o/
Sylar's pursuit of Claire in her house? SO FUCKING EPIC. Man, those scenes were awesome. I definitely saw some S1 darkness back to Sylar, which was a very welcome return. I mean, he's an histrionic character by design, corny dialogue and all, and he hasn't got to be actually scary for a long time. It was just really good to see him extra creepy there. Also: the voice of Shenkar returns! lol, this'll only make sense if you pay close attention to the score, but yeah, loved it.
Poor Claire. That kid has seen so much ugliness and violence. The whole brain conversation thing was completely gross, and completely surreal. WTF, some of Sylar's (histrionic) lines. "How do you make love stay?" WHAT. WTF ARE TALKING ABOUT? LOL. XD So very glad to have confirmation that he DOES NOT eat the brains, btw. So very glad.
I actually felt really, really bad for present-day Peter trapped in Jesse's body and helpless to do anything. ;_; Having said that, one of my favorite scenes in this episode was Matt's confrontation of Future Peter. IT WAS AWESOME, OKAY? From Matt's no-nonsense attitude to Peter's use of his powers. Wow! Wouldn't like to be in Matt's shoes after that, though... XD
I was not so big a fan of the Mohinder stuff in this ep, not gonna lie. Something about his characterization was kind of gauche. Idk, I thought we were well past the "wah-wah, I'm going home to India" point, especially given his supposed attachment to Molly. His eagerness to test out his discovery on himself seemed a little excessive as well, though I can accept that a) he's just a man, and b) the writers wanted to get that story started ASAP. It doesn't excuse anything but, y'know, it helps. And I rather liked that moment at the docks where he was going to dump the syringe into the water, but then at the last minute decided not to.
Also, I wish Hiro would stop taking credit for saving the world twice, which he didn't do by any stretch of the truth. Besides, he was originally presented as a humble character, one that certainly wouldn't toot his own horn so damn much. I love the guy, but some continuity there would be amazing. While on that subject, why didn't Kimiko inherit Yamagato Industries? There was a whole story arc devoted to that specific matter in the first season. :/ On the plus side, it was great to see Kaito again, and I love Hiro and Ando's BFF-ness, and it was kind of hilarious how Kaito anticipated that Hiro wouldn't listen. XD
To stay on a higher note, I have to say I'm really digging the visual and sound effects used to represent Daphne's power. It looks and sounds awesome! I reserve judgment on the character until a little bit later, but SHINY SHINY FX, YAY! Also, holy apocalypse, Batman! That scene was made of awesome too.
Not sure about Mohinder's narration at the end there. It was kind of lulzy in an unintended way, I thought. But whatever, I've missed it bunches, he might as well have been reading from the phonebook for all I care. I say this with the utmost love and respect. XD
HEROES CONTINUES... RIGHT NOW! (OMGYAY!)
Heroes, 3x02: The Butterfly Effect
Claire's physical numbness came totally out of left field, y/n? I hope we find out down the road that Sylar upped her pain tolerance threshold or something while he was rooting around back there (ew!), even though I'm having trouble coming up with reasons why at the moment. But he's a loon, maybe he doesn't need a reason. The return of the homemade movies was also a nice call back to the first season, even though it made me miss Zach. Aw.
Her reunion with Peter was kind of bittersweet, too. She thinks he's the Peter she knew, thought to be dead, and has been missing for the last few months; he's this disillusioned hard-ass who's losing track of everything that's gone wrong in his attempts to save his kin. Wow. :/
As for Meredith coming to help, without even getting into concerns about how HRG was even able to find her, I thought her introduction was rather ludicrous and overdramatic. LOL, Claire knows her mother is a pyrokinetic. (So do we.)
Anyway. I really, REALLY loved all the Elle, HRG, Company stuff in this episode. OMG, it was almost too much to process. Firstly, Bob? OMGWTF, SO DID NOT SEE THAT COMING! What does Sylar need the power for anyway? So random. XD But that leaves Angela as the official HBIC, which promises to be astounding amounts of bad-assery. But poor, poor Elle! And oh!WeevilJesse!Peter getting completely distressed in his cell, not only about Elle but seeing Sylar use Claire's power. Idk guys, I thought he was totally heartbreaking there.
Tracy is kinda bad-ass, too! And I love that she has the freezing ability. She seemed completely shocked when she killed that reporter with it, too. It makes me wonder if this was the first time she (unwittingly) used it? Also, LMAO at her scene with Nathan. Epic success. XD
Speaking of whom, heee! I'm very excited to see him on a political stage again. I'm thinking, that way lies (even more) madness, especially if ghosts in his head try and dictate his behavior, but he seems well intent of staying in control. We'll see. Either way, he was really really cool AND hot too ('cause he is that good) throughout this entire ep, don't even try to deny it. :p
Umm, what else... Peter continued to break my heart, did I mention that? He really did. Some of those villains look totally badass, btw. I'm especially looking forward to shenanigans from The German.
And also in the heartbreak club, Ando-kun! Ugh, it's such a shitty situation for him and Hiro. <\3 But I had to LOL @ the view from Daphne's window. Cliché much? Oh well, I'll take the shout-out anyway. ^^
Matt and his turtle also made me LOL, heh. XD And I think his spirit guide person (does he have a name yet?) sounds like he could be really awesome too.
As for Mohinder, again, I was a bit unsettled by the characterization but I guess that clear shift we saw there folds into the repercussions of his injection, so I can live with it. I think it's great that he's starting to see ugly side-effects so soon, too. Maybe he can turn this whole mess around before it's too late. I'm glad Maya keeps arguing that he should be more cautious, but simultaneously appalled that she would fall into bed with him so quickly. I definitely appreciate the shirtlessness, though. :p
Now, for the big reveal of doom... OMG. It's one thing to anticipate it, and another to actually see it become canon. o_O Will this show ever shy away from anything? LOL. I kind of can't wait to see where they take this, though. And I LOVED the dialogue around the revelation. Awesometimes!
One last thing before I hit 'post': I was beyond ecstatic to see the Angela dream sequence scene in this episode. I've gotta say seeing Adam made me really happy lol, I'm just glad they didn't decide to pretend like the character never existed. And of course, that scene is totally hardcore and losing it for good would have been a tragedy. So... YAY! \o/
I'll try and have polls up tonight. Should I make two separate posts, or should I smish them together? Weigh in!
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!

Date: 2008-09-23 03:16 pm (UTC)It really was. And it was so interesting to see the changes from the version they put on the DVD! I wonder how it's all going to figure into the season arc, but I'm sure it's going to be something amazing. :D

Date: 2008-09-23 01:59 pm (UTC)I thought it was a very good beginning though! Lots of action and WTF moments. I might need to watch it again!
However,MOAR ADAM PLZ KTHNXBYE

Date: 2008-09-23 03:18 pm (UTC)*nods* I agree with everything you said, lol! And there were some funny moments as well, which I thought was a great touch. :D
WE WANTS MOAR ADAM!

Date: 2008-09-23 02:21 pm (UTC)I kinda think Future Peter knew what he was doing. I mean clearly he's aquired more abilities. He put present!Peter in a freaking body! :O But it happen so fast I'm not 100% sure. I hope we get more of a backstory there.
LOL I think Nathan really believes what he's preaching at the moment. But poor guy so hopeful... But yeah I feel like everything's a clean slate for him right now.
Sylar's (histrionic) lines. "How do you make love stay?" WHAT. WTF ARE TALKING ABOUT?
*coughMohindercough* :D
I actually felt really, really bad for present-day Peter trapped in Jesse's body and helpless to do anything.
I KNOW I JUST... POOR PRESENT DAY PETER :(((((
Claire's physical numbness came totally out of left field, y/n? I hope we find out down the road that Sylar upped her pain tolerance threshold or something while he was rooting around back there (ew!)
I'm wondering if he did it on purpose. But I can't understand why. Like he was trying to do her a favor, for letting him pick at her brain? o.O lol idk i'm probably wrong. But he's definitely responsible for the change, whether it be it touched something, or the trama was so bad that Claire lost it that way. idk
Her reunion with Peter was kind of bittersweet, too. She thinks he's the Peter she knew, thought to be dead, and has been missing for the last few months; he's this disillusioned hard-ass who's losing track of everything that's gone wrong in his attempts to save his kin. Wow. :/
Basically this.
WeevilJesse!Peter getting completely distressed in his cell, not only about Elle but seeing Sylar use Claire's power. Idk guys, I thought he was totally heartbreaking there.
I know. :( I think that's when you definitely knew it was Peter in there. I'm just still wondering how the heck he's in there. Is it like a Roswell thing? Will he have to fight Jesse internally to get the body. Or is his lying around somewhere? o.O
Matt and his turtle also made me LOL, heh. XD And I think his spirit guide person (does he have a name yet?) sounds like he could be really awesome too.
IA :D
OMG THE POLLS ARE COMING BACK! :D If it's easier to do one. Do one... But sooo much material to work with. HAVE FUN! :D
no subject
Date: 2008-09-23 03:37 pm (UTC)The body-hosting (lol) is so confusing. I think maybe it could be a good ol' body-swap, with the original Jesse --who, zomg, LEVEL 5 BADASS lest we forget-- in poor original present-day Peter's body. Oh dear, I don't even want to think what kind of havoc he might wreak, especially with access to all of Peter's powers. O_o
I'm definitely with you on wishing for more backstory! LOL they're doing another "x months ago" episode or something (I think it's episode 8) where x is a number I can't recall right now. XD
I think Nathan really believes what he's preaching at the moment. But poor guy so hopeful...
I know... Well, at least now we know what he believes, LOL. I mean it was pretty clear in S2 that he believed in Peter above all else (aww!) but this is a whole new system of beliefs and possible whatthefuckery. What did he say? He's there to do God's bidding? Lolwhut? I just hope it doesn't dull the character completely.
But lawd, if he abides by Honor Thy Father, I think he may well be in trouble when another SURPRISE!Petrelli turns up soon-ish. XD
*coughMohindercough* :D
Hee! Well that was obviously my first thought... But now I wonder how its author intended it to come off. XD
I'm wondering if he did it on purpose. But I can't understand why.
We're in the same boat on that one, lol. And also, why'd he retrieve her headcap for her? (LOL, Heroes makes me type the weirdest things ever.)
I am indeed bringing back the polls, been looking forward to it myself!
lol pathetic! Thanks for your input! <3no subject

Date: 2008-09-23 03:17 pm (UTC)I know, right? That's a far cry from the first season: "I can't fly, Pete, what the hell are you talking about?" xD Plus, was it just me, or did it remind you a little of a certain someone wanting to be "special"?
"How do you make love stay?" WHAT. WTF ARE TALKING ABOUT?
My reaction exaclty. Wtf indeed. And this: Idk, I thought we were well past the "wah-wah, I'm going home to India" point, especially given his supposed attachment to Molly. I thought we already addressed this first season. No?
And the FX for Daphne's power were just wicked cool! She could still turn out to be really horribly written, but I hold out hope. (And maybe already ship her with Hiro a little?) :P
Yeah, ditto pretty much everything else - I had really low expectations for this season, but now I'm psyched. :D Whee!

Date: 2008-09-23 03:54 pm (UTC)Hee, I know! What's interesting, to me, is that he was feeding lines such as "we're all connected" to the public even back then, only at the time it was muddy at best whether or not he believed them - I'm leaning towards maybe not so much. Here though, it's plenty clear he believes what he's preaching! I wonder how that's going to affect to way he relates to his family, for one thing.
Similarities to Sylar's maddening desire to be extraordinary didn't strike me particularly, but I think you have a point that, if pushed to the extreme, Nathan's "We're here to do God's bidding" mojo might lead him down some dangerous paths as well. In fact, I might be quite pleased if villainy, regardless of intent, was in his near future. It'd sort of counterbalance the absolute faith he's showcasing now, by raising concerns about personal judgment and moral struggles. I'd kind of love that.
The Mohinder characterization was just really odd. It's a little bit sad. :/ (And besides, what's Matt going to say when he comes back to find Molly gone and Maya in his bed? lolz. Poor Matt.)
Aw, I'm giving Hiro a rest, ship wise. If Daphne turns out to be really awesome and a natural fit and I see romantic sparks there, I won't fight it... But for now I'm ready to enjoy that storyline for what it intends to be. :)
Hee! Heroes is back! I'm already looking forward to next week. XD

Date: 2008-09-24 02:27 am (UTC)That's more what I was thinking as well, just that we've seen a slightly darker side to Nathan, and while this religious thing looks benign, it could turn out to push him to do some really crazy stuff. Which I would be all for seeing, of course. XD It would be *interesting*!

Date: 2008-09-23 05:26 pm (UTC)except for the Mohinder parts D:and even though I had guessed the big reveal way back when in Season 1... I was still shocked. Like actually sitting on the edge of the couch, clutching my new kitten and not realizing that I had just withstood 4 minutes of nightly news (that comes after it) shocked.
Giddy giddy. XD

Man, those scenes were awesome. I definitely saw some S1 darkness back to Sylar, which was a very welcome return.
I KNOW HE'S SCARY AGAIN WOW
why didn't Kimiko inherit Yamagato Industries? There was a whole story arc devoted to that specific matter in the first season
yeah, strange
Her reunion with Peter was kind of bittersweet, too. She thinks he's the Peter she knew, thought to be dead, and has been missing for the last few months; he's this disillusioned hard-ass who's losing track of everything that's gone wrong in his attempts to save his kin
I know. Bring old Peter back just to talk to Claire! no one else understands like him, not even Mr. Muggles
R.I.P. Bob.
aww Ando
Daphne's power FX are cool. But isn't the Mona Lisa smaller?
lol The German what is this an old spy show?
Matt's spirit guide seems cool. and lol the Sprint shoutout. and the turtle.
Maya doesn't have the best judgement around shirtless men.
MOHINDER WAS TOTALLY LIKE SYLAR WHEN HE WANTED ABILITIES DON'T YOU THINK
the dream sequence was very well done

AHHHHHH I MISSED NATHAN OMGSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOMUCH.
