Maternity Leave

I loved this week's ep! But first, let me ask, do they get a different kid to play Aaron in EVERY episode? Heh. Amusing (I'm easily amused). I was reading people's reactions to this episode on the FanForum board, and I can't believe some people still believe Henry Gale might not be an Other. What, the guy supposedly got there 4 months ago, you don't think he'd have heard/seen a freaking PLANE CRASH? Especially given his enhanced sense of hearing, it's like solid proof that he made up the story of how he got there. Oh, and the conversation with Eko! It makes me think Eko takes this guy for an Other. Like he was at once genuinely asking forgiveness for killing Others, people "Henry" may very well have known, and giving off a warning: that's what happens when you people attack us, I do my best to be a good man, but I'll do it over again if need be. I don't know, that's how I interpreted it. The cutting of the beard = letting go of the guilt.
Awesome flashbacks. Ethan still creeps me out, but aw, it did seem like he was a little taken with Claire... His "we're good people" speech got me wondering, though. So these people REALLY think there's a sickness? How come none of our survivors have caught it? Surely the Others have noticed that, doesn't it intrigue them? And the costumes? Oh, what the... And I'm loving every minute of it. Alex seems like a kick-ass character, hopefully we'll see more of her in upcoming episodes. Ooh and a flashback episode for her next season would be VERY enlightening as well, methinks. While on the subject of the Rousseaus, Danielle for once didn't grate on my nerves as she did in previous episodes - I really liked that last scene, when Claire tells her about Alex and Danielle tells her she may have to kill her child. Both actresses did an excellent job, there!
I love Jack. I love Jack. When did I not love Jack? I always love Jack. But is it me, or was the writing a little inconsistent there with the captive stranger situation? I mean, last episode Jack was all for giving the guy the benefit of the doubt (which I thought was so endearingly naïve ♥) and now he's guarding the door? Not even trying to question him further? Yeah. Sloppy writing there. Or does he just trust Sayid that much? Mmm. But you know, whatever. I still love Jack. And how cute was he with Claire? He needs to smile more, because, well, he does have the loveliest smile.
Interesting character development on Locke. I'm bordering on anti-Locke right now, let's say he annoys me very much, but here I think the writers have done a really nice job of showing how he's come to this point, where he's about to lose it completely. Fire + Water showcased how close to the edge he's come, and now with "Henry" nudging him even further, the breaking point is very near. Should be very interesting, going by the promo for the next episode!
Speaking of the promo - I knew it! As gorgeous a body as Daniel Dae Kim has, and as big a pity it is that Jin doesn't have more shirtless scenes, there was no real point to that one scene in... was it What Kate Did? (Yes it was.) There was no immediate point in that scene, which seemed odd to me because they've NEVER shown anything this implicit at all unless one of the characters involved died shortly thereafter. So I figured they'd have to have put that in for a reason, and it appears as if they did. When you think about it, at this rate of roughly "6 weeks a season", I guess they COULD pull off another actual pregnancy. Sun wouldn't have to have the baby until season 5 or 6 - though, of course if it turns out she actually is pregnant, Something Very Bad will happen, but let's cross that bridge when we get to it.
Also: WHOO-HOO! Ana-free eppy! I did not miss her at all. ^.^ Not enough Sawyer though, but YAY he has glasses again, and YAY he showed some concern over the baby and Claire.
