Now that the initial spazzing and capslocking and flailing is out of the way, I'll... try to refrain from indulging in similar urges again.
"Previously on Heroes" in Japanese!! How frakking excellent is that? ♥
Oh, poor Isaac. And Peter. But ISAAC! But Peter. (Oh, and Simone. I guess.) Isaac is back on the smack! Yay. But he's gonna die, noez! :(
And Peter was all emo and sad, and went to his Mr.-Fix-It big brother, d'aaaaawww! THEY ARE SO CUTE. And I just knew Nathan would react like that, I knew it - let Isaac take the full blame, get Peter out of trouble, and never more speak a word of it. It's interesting, by the way, how Nathan didn't at all seem surprised at Peter's invisibility, which should be new to him. Or were we deprived of a brotherly scene after Peter's didactic purse-snatching episode? (I would think we were. Scandalous!) Well, no matter. This scene was glorious.
The bit right before it, too. Nathan's been planning all along to take down Linderman! Whoopee! He really is trying to make a change in the world the only way he knows how. *pets him* Now, of course, this may look like a lame last-minute afterthought the writers came up with because 'the public doesn't like him enough' or some such drivel, but even if it were, you've got to give them props for subtlety and appropriateness. Yes, yes, they did play the secret daughter card, but hey, he wasn't molested by his nannyor violently orphaned by his own father's hand! Also, now I can gloat and be like, "See? Nathan's a good guy! I told you." Yayz!
But seriously, how awesome was he with Hiro? If you've seen the clip from Adrian Pasdar's appearance on Rachael Ray's show last week, you'll notice they cut the whole awoof/a wolf thing, but the rest of their interaction definitely makes up for it. Just the fact that Nathan stops to talk to a mopey Hiro on his way in is so heartwarming and made of squee. And Hiro's still fanboying him like mad, it's crazy and incredible. Pay attention to the look on Hiro's face when Nathan is talking to the security guards, it is just grand. I am so sure it's exactly how we would look at The Pasdar, LOL. I've seen Masi Oka's work demeaned as easy and predictable, but I couldn't disagree more with that view. I think he's amazing.
You know, I started this out planning to go chronologically, and then I started talking about Nathan and well, can't stop myself now, so let's wrap it and go on character by character. The Niki stuff was great. I am SO GLAD it wasn't Jessica waiting for him in his roomand ripping his shirt open, LOL. "You picked the wrong day to screw with me." Um. Nice choice of words. The punch made me laugh, again (gold star for the sound editors).
Lastly, the confrontation with Linderman. How can anybody look so ugly and so Santa-like at the same time? *mesmerized* Anyhow, this is where I echo Mama Petrelli's sentiment and go 'oh my gosh Nathan YOU REALLY ARE A SAP!' Oh, and the runner-up for title of this entry was: "I've been known to eat zucchinis on occasion, but not as a general rule." LOL, the dialogue is so great. Back to my point, old man Lindie waxes philosophical (to the WTFth power) and our man Nathan changes his mind? I was rooting for him to pull the trigger, I really was, eventhough at the end of the day, I am glad he isn't a murderer. But damnit, Linderman's commanded his assassination. I do like, however, that once again his Achille's heel is shown to be his ambition. It's consistent with what we've seen of him so far. (Also: he doesn't have murder in his heart.Yet?)
Moving on... Poor Matt got screwed again, eh? The guy can't catch a break! I've decided that I don't like the new girl, Candace. She had some funny lines, cute outfit, but I'm not a big fan of the attitude. Plus, she tricked HRG! Ergo, she's eeeeevil. Whatever will happen to HRG now, huh? *chews lip* I loved seeing him and his wife speak overtly of the OWI and the threat to Claire and themselves, it was kind of sweet in a really messed-up way.
Claire is awesome! I love how she got rid of the Haitian at the airport, LOL. Hayden is great, too, see how she jumps when the door to Peter's apartment opens. Back to Claire, it's remotely funny how she keeps meeting Petrellis but hasn't yet come face to face with her father. At this rate, she's going to meet Heidi and her half-brothers before she's formally introduced to Nathan! (No, yes, I did imply I was done talking about him.) The big chunk in this, of course, is Mama Petrelli's involvement with the Haitian and/or the OWI. Seriously, this show's canon history (I'd say mythology, were this Ancient Greece - and we've certainly got the drama and tragedy) gets so much more complicated with each episode!
Now, about the Sanders family, did Micah get dumb overnight, or something? He used to be able to tell the difference between Niki and Jessica over the phone, and now he can't? What gives, kiddo? The video game thing was sort of cute, though. By the by, I'm assuming Micah bought himself the PS3 with all of his free-flowing cash, until proven otherwise. They're supposed to be dirt poor, yo. And Jessica can't exactly go, "oh hay I kills peepz for money lolz!!" Looks like DL is starting to get suspicious anyway. It's about time, too.
Rejoice, Mohinder has been cured of dumbassery! And I love, love, LOVE how much Sylar was enjoying his chai/poison drink! LMAO, it's just one of those priceless things. Yummmyyy--ZZZzZzz. It appears Mohinder had found him out at least a few hours earlier, and still he kept talking about his father's research and kept up all appearances of good-natured collaborative work... Impressive acting job there, Momo. But then, as Sylar is making his case (or, in his words, offering Mohinder his life - ah, sweet, sweet love) and Mohinder reaches a huge milestone in his research, he speaks of it with a glee so genuine, I wondered for an instant if he was thinking aloud rather than TALKING TO SYLAR. That left me a bit "o_O", a bit "<\3", and a lot incapable of translating the sentiment into words.
On a different note, I am in complete fannish HEAVEN that they mentioned the Chandra/Gabriel dynamic in contrast to the Chandra/Mohinder one, which we know to have been on the crappier side. And Mohinder had better not die! Hey,
hebrew_hernia,
frayen and
bitter_crimson, did you expect him to burst into flames when Peter looked up, too? ;D Anyway, as someone said before me, for Sylar not killing somebody is like saying I love you. IAWTC. He's just hurt and bleeding a little bit, not dead. He's too pretty to die! THEY CAN'T TAKE AWAY THE PRETTY! I refuse.
Hiro and Ando-kun, yattaaaaaaa! I was so, so very happy for Hiro when it was Ando who showed up as security! Ando totally just made up for all of his past mistakes, however silly they may have been. And Hiro's got his powers back, heeee! Exciting! Though, the sight of New York completely destroyed: not so exciting. ;_;
The cliffhanger made my blood run cold! Shivers, and everything! Holy manatee. Best last shot ever, y/y? Additionally, Peter seeking out Mohinder after Nathan told him he could help? MADE OF WIN. (Except for the part where I was pleading with them to "Stop calling him 'Suresh,' Petrellis! WTF?") But, yeah, poor lost Peter, confused and vulnerable and Sylared. :O
And now, let the hiatus fan freak out commence! COME QUICK, APRIL 23RD!
