Heroes
4x07: Strange Attractors

OMFG!?
:O

I can't believe they went there with Jeremy. How devastatingly sad and, dare I say it, lifelike. :(

Also, OMFG Matt Parkman how can you be so thoughtless!? :|

Nathanites Never Say Die
Wtf happened to the body anywayz?!??!

Was that 'previously on Heroes' a humongous tease or what? *flails* Still, yay for ~Sylar remembering more of Nathan's of memories. (And LOL @ Samuel being like STFU every time. XD)

On a different note, that was my favorite story in the episode so I hate to nitpick, but couldn't Noah have at least tried to call ~Nathan's office to get Jeremy off the hook? Sigh. When that bitchy sheriff was all, "lol you aren't a lawyer" my immediate reaction was to think of Nathan. He was a lawyer. Also a US senator. I mean, SHAMONE!

Mohinder Watch
Have you seen a sexy geneticist?

Pfft, even Matt has not the slightest clue. (I wonder if he knows at all of Molly's whereabouts.)

But hey, Mohinder was brought up by two characters this week, and no one even attempted to usurp his momologuing duties. I guess that's... progress? Ugh.

Okay, cool.
(I begrudgingly liked this...)

Tbh, I pretty much liked everything this week. I mean, Matt and Sylar's storyline is as inane as ever - if not more, now that all doubt has been removed regarding Sylar's presence in Matt's head. But it brings the lulz, occasionally some accurate characterization, and made Matt reach out to Mohinder. (By the by, Janice Parkman deserves a godsdamn medal if she hangs around throughout this crap.)

And I guess the amnesiac-formerly-known-as-Sylar's consciousness is in fact devoid of any and all intrinsic Sylarness, then. If Nathan's essence is still in there somehow, at this point that's good enough for me. Also Samuel is a BAMF forever.

Jeremy's story was just gut-wrenching. It's sickening to think that's the kind of reaction specials would be met with in society, but I have no trouble believing it. Been a while since the show was relevant in that way.

As for Claire and Gretchen, I'm liking the approach they're taking with it. Claire's confused but accepting (another good bit of characterization, that), Gretchen so far isn't much a walking stereotype, and they remain college kids with lots to figure out yet. I'm also glad (and frankly, impressed) that their relationship didn't take center-stage and become the sole focal point of all of their scenes. I like that.

I call shenanigans!
(... but let me tell you how you still suck.)

Seriously you guys, the continued absence of Mohinder stopped being funny like seven episodes ago. D:

And I don't believe The Company's only in-house attorneys in its heyday were Arthur Petrelli and minions. Noah should have been able to call in some lawyerly type to school that jackass sheriff on the legal process of lawful prosecutions.

Unrelatedly; you guys know the esteem in which I hold Zach Quinto, but I'm sorry, the man should never be allowed on set in his own wardrobe again. LMAO, no one of the characters he's supposed to be playing would dress like that. XD

Brain Crumbs
Scattered thoughts

Starting with live thoughts as I was watching (these are some of the comments I made on the ongoing post @ [livejournal.com profile] fly_by_day last night)

- ROFL SYLAR'S OBSESSION WITH APPLES CONTINUES
- lol, as a European I've gotta say I really don't get the appeal of joining a sorority
- LOL WAY TO MENTION KILLING A MAN IN A SHERIFF'S OFFICE
- Nathan was a lawyer. *HAS AN EMO MOMENT*
- [THAT HAT] IS WHY ZQ SHOULDN'T BE ALLOWED TO BRING HIS OWN WARDROBE TO SET
- I like Janice's hair.
- MATT IS SO DELUSIONAL. AND DUMB.
- I still don't get how Tracy can live without taking an interest in her actual biological ORPHANED NEPHEW
- Matt's cylon partner grew a moustache. Lulz.
- oOOOOOoOOooooOOH IS SAMUEL LIKE THE AVENGER OF ALL SPECIALS SCORNED? THAT'S KINDA SEXY

More:

When Niki Tracy was brought to the carnival and the camera did that neat swivel-round thing, I couldn't help but think about Peter's utter(ly adorable) fascination with pretty lights. He would be so happy at the carnival, lols. ♥

Needs moar baby Parkman.

Hotass o' The Week
Half the reason I keep watching

I tried to resist, I really did. Turns out that was entirely futile. Damn you, Robert Knepper and your inappropriate sexiness! :p

HBIC o' The Week
Head Bitch In Charge

I'm gonna give this one to Sylar. Granted, he was largely aided by Matt's general dimness, and I abhor the concept that Sylar is that much into sex, but the ending was classic "HOSHIT IT'S SYLAR!" and the creep factor alone must be recognized.

Ship o' The Week
lol romance?

Samuel/Tracy. I don't even know, it's so clearly NOT on either of their agendas, I wouldn't mind some kind of special bond accidentally developing there. Whut?

Best line
I may or may not quote this irl

"You're so desperate to fit in; why can't you accept your power? Why do you insist on being so forgettable?"

Is that a tiny speck of real spot-on Sylar characterization there? HOLY CRAP STOP THE PRESSES. The writers got something right: genuine typical we-all-want-to-be-special-don't-we? self-justification like we've seen from him before (you know, ~*~THREE YEARS AGO~*~ in volume one).

Not to mention this was just after he scornfully belittled Matt's most important relationship by insinuating he was better at it. I'm sure that all would sound familiar to a certain Dr. Suresh.

Most burning question?
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!! *flails*

So, uh... Is it next Monday yet? Is it?

Overall,
I liked this episode a whole lot. I feel like everything has weight again, and that's nice.

I'm so happy that Heroes is getting better every week. I mean,I even liked Tracy a lot in this episode and that says something *lol*

Matt's cylon partner grew a moustache. Lulz.

What were they thinking? Seriously *lol*

I never found Robert Knepper sexy before but boy does he rock that goth-ish style *drools*

I think at this point Matt knows nothing about anything. Doesn't know what Mohinder's up to, doesn't know where Molly is, apparently doesn't know how to have sex better then an asexual man, doesn't know how to keep Sylar from taking over his body. Poor Parkman... he's just dumb. Sad for someone with telepathy.

Ooh, I didn't think about the whole Nathan is a lawyer thing. Interesting. It would have been a perfect time to introduce the whole "WHERE THE FUCK IS NATHAN!" thing that needs to happen soon. But I don't know if HRG would even call *Nathan* cause he knows who he really is and doesn't want anything to do with him, unless he gets to shoot him.

awww, Peter and pretty lights. :D

Give in to the Knepper!!

Oh, Knepper...They finally started to explore his true potential!

I am still sobbing for NOOOOAH!!! DDD:

LOLOL. I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. And it wasn't just the hat! It was the stripey shirt, too! Apparently, amnesiac!Sylathan = Zachary Quinto. Except more into the ladies.

I thought I had come to begrudgingly accept the fact that Mohinder doesn't matter anymore and no one on the show cares about him, BUT THIS EPISODE MADE ME WANT MYLAR SO BAD IT'S NOT EVEN FUNNY. That tiny, tiny mention of him from Sylar and Matt has triggered my withdrawal symptoms, and if I don't at least get one Mohinder scene next episode (probably not with Matt or Sylar *sigh*), I WILL CUT A BITCH. And by bitch I mean Tim Kring. I NEED MY MOMO BACK. And even though I know this won't happen, I'm seriously dying for a Sylar-as-Matt/Mohinder scene or a Matt/Mohinder scene with Sylar snarking in the background. WHY WON'T THESE SILLY WRITERS WRITE THIS? IT SEEMS OBVIOUS. IT'D MAKE SENSE. BOTH CHARACTERS HAVE A SIGNIFICANT HISTORY WITH HIM AND MATT CALLED HIM AND LEFT HIM AN URGENT MESSAGE! CLEARLY, MOHINDER SHOULD CONTACT HIM.

SYLAR MADE ME LAUGH A LOT

WHEN HE IMITATED MOHINDER "MY FATHER'S RESEARCH" I WAS DYING OF LULZ

AND OMG POOR JEREMY. WHAT A HORRIBLE WAY TO DIE. :(
THE ENDING WAS THE BEST PART. VENGEFUL!SAMUEL IS AWESOME.

Sorry for the replying fail!

Samuel is all sorts of bad-ass and wonderful, omfg. It scares me how EASILY he could get me to join his skeevy carnival, lmao.

Jeremy <\3 I loved him last time and was SO excited to see him this time. And that whole last scene of his with Gill was just... poetic? Not sure if that's the word I'm looking for, but it was just extremely symbolic and hit all the right notes for me. *sigh* As much as I hate the loss it was a character death that actually meant something.

Sylar/Matt was pretty cool. Didn't much feel it as well as other weeks, but I think that was due to a little out-of-characterization. I instantly thought of you when Matt called Mohinder (and was all WTF ARE YOU like the rest of us! haha) and then DEFINATELY thought of you as soon as Sylar quipped about "My Father's Research" Seriously, hon they're either stalking your blog posts or I'm convinced Sendhil and the guys had to get that line in (especially after Eclipse).

I actually liked Tracy for all of 2 minutes when she wasn't as accepting of Samuel's tales as everyone else. It seemed like she was the one trying to get all the government bodies involved for Jeremy's rescue. I didn't even think of Nathan TBH I keep thinking of him politically instead of legally so... if it had been Peter I might have thought of it heh :$

ETA:OH and carnival-Sylar - seriously, Zarina told me about ZQ wearing his clothes on set last week and I hadn't really noticed, but damn it was obvious this week. WHO ELSE WOULD WEAR THAT HAT??? LOL

I'd describe Jeremy's last scene as TRAUMATIC, personally. It was so impactful, horrible and sad. :( And you're right, it meant something, it was relevant and consequential. Not pointless like so many before.

Sylar and Matt have been so OOC, lol. Sylar was alright this week but Matt is off the frakking rails. *facepalm* LOL, I think "my father's research" was such a hit with the internet fanbase, they thought they'd throw us a bone here, too. XD

I liked Tracy as well! Not that I've actively disliked her much, but she's so boring most of the time... Not this week! I really enjoyed her interactions with Bennet, Samuel and Jeremy.

I didn't even think of Nathan TBH I keep thinking of him politically instead of legally so... if it had been Peter I might have thought of it heh :$

Ah, come on, he tried to take down Linderman by getting the FBI involved and was constantly worried what would happen if the world at large ever found out about people with abilities. (Yes, I shall forever champion him, my hero! ♥ lmao) And I have to point out, especially in political terms he would have had leverage there, because let's face it, US senator calls the sheriff of Bumfuck, Nowhere, chances are sheriff's gonna back down. XD I can see why Tracy wouldn't want to call him though (can't blame her) but even knowing it's supposedly Sylar underneath, I wonder why Bennet was so quick to rule him out; though I see how the story made it necessary.

LMAO about ZQ and "Sylar's" wardrobe. Totally.
(thanks, [livejournal.com profile] greatbriton)
I'm with Samuel. XD

Hee! I'm not sure it was that one exactly, but it must have at least in part been inspired by it. And there's no doubt Zach has been wearing his own clothes in the carnival scenes for the past 2 episodes, LOL. ♥

Then again... Matt's not the brightest bulb in the chandelier, lol

Ditto. It's much less 'sensational' and much more real. I am liking it.

Because she's a cold hard bitch? *cue JET song to start*

lolol, that's right, Matt's always been a nugget short of a Happy Meal. XD

much less 'sensational' and much more real

Exactly! ♥

Because she's a cold hard bitch?

lmao, I didn't want to be the one to say it, but probably, yeah. And you know how, originally, people's abilities were supposedly linked with their personalities? This would certainly fit here. ;)

Haha, Peter is so childlike still. Kid in a candy store is totally a valid comparison.
