Heroes
4x07: Strange Attractors
OMFG!?
:O
I can't believe they went there with Jeremy. How devastatingly sad and, dare I say it, lifelike. :(
Also, OMFG Matt Parkman how can you be so thoughtless!? :|
Nathanites Never Say Die
Wtf happened to the body anywayz?!??!
Was that 'previously on Heroes' a humongous tease or what? *flails* Still, yay for ~Sylar remembering more of Nathan's of memories. (And LOL @ Samuel being like STFU every time. XD)
On a different note, that was my favorite story in the episode so I hate to nitpick, but couldn't Noah have at least tried to call ~Nathan's office to get Jeremy off the hook? Sigh. When that bitchy sheriff was all, "lol you aren't a lawyer" my immediate reaction was to think of Nathan. He was a lawyer. Also a US senator. I mean, SHAMONE!
Mohinder Watch
Have you seen a sexy geneticist?
Pfft, even Matt has not the slightest clue. (I wonder if he knows at all of Molly's whereabouts.)
But hey, Mohinder was brought up by two characters this week, and no one even attempted to usurp his momologuing duties. I guess that's... progress? Ugh.
Okay, cool.
(I begrudgingly liked this...)
Tbh, I pretty much liked everything this week. I mean, Matt and Sylar's storyline is as inane as ever - if not more, now that all doubt has been removed regarding Sylar's presence in Matt's head. But it brings the lulz, occasionally some accurate characterization, and made Matt reach out to Mohinder. (By the by, Janice Parkman deserves a godsdamn medal if she hangs around throughout this crap.)
And I guess the amnesiac-formerly-known-as-Sylar's consciousness is in fact devoid of any and all intrinsic Sylarness, then. If Nathan's essence is still in there somehow, at this point that's good enough for me. Also Samuel is a BAMF forever.
Jeremy's story was just gut-wrenching. It's sickening to think that's the kind of reaction specials would be met with in society, but I have no trouble believing it. Been a while since the show was relevant in that way.
As for Claire and Gretchen, I'm liking the approach they're taking with it. Claire's confused but accepting (another good bit of characterization, that), Gretchen so far isn't much a walking stereotype, and they remain college kids with lots to figure out yet. I'm also glad (and frankly, impressed) that their relationship didn't take center-stage and become the sole focal point of all of their scenes. I like that.
I call shenanigans!
(... but let me tell you how you still suck.)
Seriously you guys, the continued absence of Mohinder stopped being funny like seven episodes ago. D:
And I don't believe The Company's only in-house attorneys in its heyday were Arthur Petrelli and minions. Noah should have been able to call in some lawyerly type to school that jackass sheriff on the legal process of lawful prosecutions.
Unrelatedly; you guys know the esteem in which I hold Zach Quinto, but I'm sorry, the man should never be allowed on set in his own wardrobe again. LMAO, no one of the characters he's supposed to be playing would dress like that. XD
Brain Crumbs
Scattered thoughts
Starting with live thoughts as I was watching (these are some of the comments I made on the ongoing post @
fly_by_day last night)
- ROFL SYLAR'S OBSESSION WITH APPLES CONTINUES
- lol, as a European I've gotta say I really don't get the appeal of joining a sorority
- LOL WAY TO MENTION KILLING A MAN IN A SHERIFF'S OFFICE
- Nathan was a lawyer. *HAS AN EMO MOMENT*
- [THAT HAT] IS WHY ZQ SHOULDN'T BE ALLOWED TO BRING HIS OWN WARDROBE TO SET
- I like Janice's hair.
- MATT IS SO DELUSIONAL. AND DUMB.
- I still don't get how Tracy can live without taking an interest in her actual biological ORPHANED NEPHEW
- Matt's cylon partner grew a moustache. Lulz.
- oOOOOOoOOooooOOH IS SAMUEL LIKE THE AVENGER OF ALL SPECIALS SCORNED?THAT'S KINDA SEXY
More:
WhenNiki Tracy was brought to the carnival and the camera did that neat swivel-round thing, I couldn't help but think about Peter's utter(ly adorable) fascination with pretty lights. He would be so happy at the carnival, lols. ♥
Needs moar baby Parkman.
Hotass o' The Week
Half the reason I keep watching

I tried to resist, I really did. Turns out that was entirely futile. Damn you, Robert Knepper and your inappropriate sexiness! :p
HBIC o' The Week
Head Bitch In Charge
I'm gonna give this one to Sylar. Granted, he was largely aided by Matt's general dimness, and I abhor the concept that Sylar is that much into sex, but the ending was classic "HOSHIT IT'S SYLAR!" and the creep factor alone must be recognized.
Ship o' The Week
lol romance?
Samuel/Tracy. I don't even know, it's so clearly NOT on either of their agendas, I wouldn't mind some kind of special bond accidentally developing there. Whut?
Best line
I may or may not quote this irl
"You're so desperate to fit in; why can't you accept your power? Why do you insist on being so forgettable?"
Is that a tiny speck of real spot-on Sylar characterization there? HOLY CRAP STOP THE PRESSES. The writers got something right: genuine typical we-all-want-to-be-special-don't-we? self-justification like we've seen from him before (you know, ~*~THREE YEARS AGO~*~ in volume one).
Not to mention this was just after he scornfully belittled Matt's most important relationship by insinuating he was better at it. I'm sure that all would sound familiar to a certain Dr. Suresh.
Most burning question?
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!! *flails*
So, uh... Is it next Monday yet? Is it?
Overall,
I liked this episode a whole lot. I feel like everything has weight again, and that's nice.
