"Have you never seen Dawson's Creek?"

House was kind of weird this week.
I'll get it out of the way first and not come back to it: the writing was less than stellar and much of the dialog felt extremely forced. Bleh.
That said; House and Cuddy = excellent. :D
I really liked Cameron's storyline. Nice change, that. It seems odd that Wilson wouldn't even make an appearance, given the guy's CANCER and all, but, whatever. This is Cameron, after all. I'm glad she eventually acceded the guy's request, and I also appreciated that her husband was brought up again, I thought it fit nicely with the general theme of the episode.
Chase cracked me up when he advised House to keep the rape victim asleep.
The clinic = mad fun times! I hope we get to see a lot more of that. ♥
I thought it cute that Wilson would seek House out in the jogging park, in the middle of the day, and not even on a House-finding-and-dragging-back-to-work mission. Hee. Was there lecturing? I forget. I was distracted by RSL's cuteness. SO SUE ME.
The big reveal of House's abuse by his father? I'd figured as much. That's what reading spoilers will do for you. Nice bit of trivia with his Dutch grandmother, though. And hoping people will break legs, LMAO. "I'm evil." Heh. Yeah, you are.
Foosball game! :D
I'll watch it all again tonight, because for now, the main storyline and how much it sucked makes this a crappy episode with bright highlights here and there. :\
Now, I have some Heroes speculation! Nothing huge, just a screencap-supported assumption about Claire's biological father, that may or may not all be chalked up to sloppy continuity.
The promo for Distractions shows a man's forearm and hand, while the voice-over teases on Claire's father's identity. It may thus be safely assumed that the body parts shown belong to him. See them below:

Because of the pricey-looking watch and ring, it might be easily inferred the hand belongs to Nathan. So, of course, obsessive fan that I am, I had to go and have a look at Nathan's watch. Turns out, it's not the same as above! Lookit:

(n'aaaaawww, shouldn't he smile all the time?)
Of course, he could have several watches. So let's have a look at the ring! I have no screen cap here, but take my word for it, Nathan's wedding band is nowhere near as wide as Claire's alleged bio dad's is. He does have a bigger piece of jewelry, but he wears it on the other hand. (I wasn't kidding about the obsession.)
Temporary conclusion: Nathan Petrelli is not the man shown to be Claire's biological father in the preview for Distractions. The mystery stays whole.
Hee. Fandom is so fun.

- Ted the radioactive guy: wears neither ring nor watch.
- Sylar: ditto

Date: 2007-01-31 05:34 pm (UTC)I thought about that too! I saw the watch and screamed out: OH NO! It's Nathan!
*cries* No! My Peter/Claire shippage dreams must come true sometime in the next..however many years.
I bet they did it to trick us, or maybe Lindeman is Claire's dad. Or..maybe Nathan. Psssh.

Date: 2007-02-01 03:52 pm (UTC)My money's still on Linderman or (very long shot) Matt Parkman. (Because who would see that coming?)

Date: 2007-01-31 06:22 pm (UTC)It's the subject title to this entry that caught my interest btw, where's it from ? ^_^
House's grandmother is Dutch? Woohoo (so am I). Too bad we're so behind with the show over here :(

Date: 2007-02-01 03:58 pm (UTC)"Have you never seen Dawson's Creek?" is a quote from the latest House episode. It's what he asks clinic patients who confessed to have unprotected sex. LMAO.
Hee, yes, or at least that's what he says. What season are you up to? France is in the middle of season 2. :)

I watched the newest episodes until about November last year when I was in Canada. I am not sure what season we're at in NL but I know I tried to watch it a few times and recognised the story lines...

Date: 2007-02-01 08:50 am (UTC)But yeah, thing is we're not even sure if The Hand is relavant.
But we do know that Claire's mother had her dad's number right?
If it ain't Nathan I'd rather it be HRG himself.
*awaits Ted & HRG screencaps*

Date: 2007-02-02 03:46 pm (UTC)These were my comments on episode 3x12, One day, one room. Where are you up to? :)

Date: 2007-02-02 09:19 pm (UTC)Ah I'm like 11 eps behind you but better late than never.
I just got confused because I saw you telling Zar about S2 House and I was thinking hmmm I thought you knew about the skateboard scene.

Date: 2007-02-04 11:35 am (UTC)Right! This just goes to show what an airhead I am, doesn't it? LOL! You'd just said the season had started in NZ this week. Jeez, you'd think I'd be able to retain information a bit longer than about 12 seconds. *headdesk*
I keep up with the US broadcast, downloading episodes hours after they air on FOX, so I'm not really representative of the French audience at large, though I do tune in now and again to check out the (very 'meh') voice dubbing/translation.

Date: 2007-02-01 09:18 pm (UTC)Not to mention WHO exactly is HRG working for?
I seriously don't want her dad to be Nathan tho. That just screws up the Paire. Not to mention Nathan would have been about 22-ish? Wouldn't he either be in the army or in college somewhere other than Texas at the time Claire was born?

Date: 2007-02-02 04:11 pm (UTC)I haven't really tried to figure out Nathan's canon age, but yes, he'd have to have been pretty young abd besides, so many people are thinking it's gonna be him, it wouldn't be so much of a 'shocking revelation'.
no subject
Date: 2007-02-02 06:00 pm (UTC)Add that to the fact that 80% of viewers expect it to be Nathan and it makes me think that they're def being deliberately misleading and that it's not going to be him.
At least, that's what I'm hoping!
no subject
Date: 2007-02-04 11:39 am (UTC)I wouldn't really mind for him to be Nathan as much as I would the fact that it was OMG SO OBVIOUS! And much of fandom is going to be so smug and post "I told you so"s all over the place. Annoying, much?
Either way, I subscribe to your logic wholeheartedly. It wouldn't make much sense by now.

Date: 2007-02-02 11:40 pm (UTC)Again, I've still got my money on Linderman. But you've made an awesome point with Matt, and as I said to Parul that'd be an interesting situation for him to find out about 2 kids at the same time. Is it likely for him to be wearing a business shirt though? :\ And you know either Claire's daddy has a MASSIVE ring, or a bunch of them piled onto that finger. Being that everybody is only wearing one I'm still wondering what's going on. But, u know, I also wonder if they are trying to mislead us because maybe it's possible that footage has nothing to do with that phone call (and they just wanted to sit back and laugh at us speculating).

Date: 2007-02-04 11:54 am (UTC)they just wanted to sit back and laugh at us speculating
LOL, that's another definite possibility! And misleading previews aren't a new publicity device by any means, so we must expect it to a certain extent. It's funny because they make it sound like it's going to be this big shocking revelation, but after all of our theorizing and speculating, there's no way any of us are going to be utterly stunned.
Unless it does turn out to be Matt, LOL!no subject
Date: 2007-02-05 10:54 am (UTC)Oh I do hope they are being incredibly misleading. What if it WAS Claude and that scene was flashing back to 17 years ago when they first lost her? He could have been all business-like before becoming a hobo... haha. You never know what's around the bend. But on one hand I do think they like us to speculate because we probably end up giving them story ideas and push them to keep ahead of the rest of us ideas wise. Honestly, I don't think I could be surprised by anything now, we've exhausted every possible option. It'd have to be absolutely HUGE to be something we haven't thought about.

Date: 2007-02-06 10:20 am (UTC)And I've read the exact same summary with "adoptive father" at the end, LOL. Methinks NBC is knowingly screwing with our minds. One does wonder, though, what on Earth she'd have to be mad at Nathan about - he thought her dead all this time.
I really like the idea of HRG getting involved in this whole business of hunting down/studying the super-abled out of worry/fascination for Claire.

Date: 2007-02-08 11:08 am (UTC)Yeah I'm thinking you're right on the money with that one. I can't remember what his exact words were to Isaac now LOL all I remmeber is him saying mommy was dead hence why I went.. "Er... WHAT? HOW?" at the spoiler. But anyways... it's kind of sad really, because I would have liked it to be HRG to show there really was a reason why he was so passionate about her safety.
